Instructional Designer Are you skilled in developing and delivering compelling training sessions to teams of professionals? Then we are looking for you!FWI is seeking a dynamic part-time Instructional Designer to design and deliver high-quality training courses for government customers at the Department of Treasury TTB headquarters. As an Instructional Designer, you will develop engaging training sessions on topics like communication, change management, and process improvement, utilizing various instructional techniques to enhance employee skills through both e-learning and onsite formats in a collaborative hybrid work environment.FWI has been recognized as a Top Workplace by the Washington Post in 2024 and 2025, offering excellent growth opportunities in a collaborative environment.Work Schedule and Location:Hybrid: This part-time position requires fully onsite instructional delivery for all courses at the Department of Treasury TTB headquarters in Washington, D.C. The instructor has the flexibility to work remotely when performing course preparation tasks.Responsibilities Developing and delivering captivating training sessions in both E-learning and onsite formatsCovering exciting topics such as Critical Thinking and Problem Solving, Change Management, Decision Making, Project Management, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, Communication Skills, and Time ManagementUtilizing a variety of instructional techniques to keep learners engaged, including interactive discussions, hands-on activities, multimedia presentations, and real-world scenariosTailoring teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and ensure material is accessible to all participantsCrafting comprehensive and engaging course materials, including interactive lesson plans, visually appealing presentations, and useful supplementary resourcesTailoring content to meet the diverse needs of the target audienceFostering a lively and inclusive learning atmosphere that encourages participation, creativity, and feedbackAssessing trainee performance and provide insightful, constructive feedback to support their growthStaying current with industry trends, instructional methods, and training technologies to continuously improve training effectivenessIncorporating participant feedback to refine course content and delivery methodsCollaborating with the customer to schedule and facilitate training sessions smoothlyWorking closely with the FedWriters team and the customer to align training activities with overarching organizational goalsImplementing robust quality control measures to ensure top-notch training deliveryContinuously evaluating and enhancing training materials and methods based on participant feedback and industry best practicesQualifications Required:Bachelor's degree in Education, Training, Business Administration, or a related fieldProven experience in training and instructional design, with a successful track record of delivering impactful training programsExceptional verbal and written communication skills, capable of conveying complex information clearly and effectivelySkill in using various E-learning platforms and tools, such as Zoom, Teams, Visio, Tableau, and PowerPointProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)Outstanding interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire learners from diverse backgroundsStrong ability to work independently and as part of a teamVersatility to adapt teaching methods to different learning styles and environments.Competence in managing multiple training sessions and adjusting schedules as necessaryDesired:Master's degree in Education, Training, or a related fieldProfessional certifications in training, such as Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP)Previous experience working with or within government agencies, particularly in a training capacityFamiliarity with government training requirementsFWI is an Equal Opportunity Employer, including disability/vets.Why Join Our Team At FWI, we place the highest importance on creating an exceptional employee experience.
