This is a hybrid role (in-person collaboration roughly twice a week with periodic full-team on-site weeks).\nHere’s How You’ll Make an Impact on the Team\nDesign and build a horizontally scalable ingestion platform for millions of hardware sensor data points per second\nDevelop durable, efficient database solutions to support real-time reads and large-scale analytics workloads\nPioneer data architecture by integrating streaming and storage innovations, including cloud-native and diskless designs\nDefine engineering culture, standards, and processes\nCollaborate on architecture, design, code reviews, and scaling strategies with peers\nHere’s What You’ll Need to Be Successful in This Role\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, or another STEM discipline\n7+ years of experience in backend, infrastructure, or data engineering roles\nHands-on experience with event-time-based stream processing or streaming SQL systems (e.g., Flink, Kafka Streams, Beam, or similar)\nProficiency with relational and time-series databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, Druid, Pinot, TimescaleDB, or equivalent)\nExperience building large-scale distributed systems or low-latency backend services (experience with Go, Rust, or Python preferred)\nFamiliarity with DevOps and cloud infrastructure tools such as Kubernetes, Prometheus, ArgoCD, and Terraform\nStrong communication skills and a collaborative approach to problem-solving\nHere’s What Else Might Help You Out\nFamiliarity with telemetry data from hardware systems, high-throughput ingest pipelines, or columnar storage formats like Apache Arrow and Parquet\nExperience building resilient, performant systems that scale to billions of records\nCuriosity about new data paradigms and eagerness to evaluate and integrate emerging tools and techniques\nPay Range\n$200,000 - $250,000/year\nReady to Make Your Mark?\nThis role may fill quickly.
