In this role, you’ll be the backbone of our molding department managing resin mixes, prepping machines for changeovers, and ensuring our inventory stays accurate. If you're someone who doesn't mind jumping between different responsibilities and is eager to contribute wherever needed, this position will give you the chance to make a real impact\nOverview:\nThe Material Handler will monitor machines throughout their shift to provide necessary resins and raw materials while moving finished goods to the takeaway zone. The ideal candidate will work with minimal supervision, taking the initiative to manage machine changeovers and material mixing to ensure the production floor never skips a beat.\nPRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:\nCheck each machine to know what jobs are running and what materials are needed.\nResponsible for mixing plastic resins and colorants according to the Material Pick List.\nResponsible for Machine changeovers including:\nPurge barrel of old material\nRemove all resins from last job\nClear area of regrind or scrap parts\nClean machine area of resins\nManage the grinding of scrap:\nOversee grinding of scrap\nEnsure regrind is properly labeled with type and weight\nUpdate Regrind Inventory Matrix to add/remove materials as needed\nPull material (including resins, boxes, bags, and any ancillary items listed on Job Material Picklist) from inventory and mix according to BOM.\nBring mixed material to machines and fill hoppers as needed.\nPerform inventory transactions to apply material to jobs.\nMove finished goods to the Takeaway Zone. Perform inventory moves on Infor for finished goods moved to the Takeaway Zone.\nAlert department Manager to machine, material, or personnel problems.\nKeep mixing area clean and organized. Sweep up any material spills immediately.\nKeep the Molding Department clean and organized.\nAssist operating machines to cover operator break times when needed.\nTake out trash daily.\nAlerts manager of any continuous improvement ideas and help with deployment and communication.\nWorks with Inventory Manager as needed to help with picking jobs.\nWorks with shipping clerk when needed to put away finished or delivered goods into warehouse locations.\nOther duties as assigned.\nQUALIFICATIONS:\nEducation: High School graduate or equivalent.\nRequired Knowledge and Experience:\nRequires a minimum of six months’ molding operation experience (manufacturing in a plastic injection molding operation).\nMust have knowledge of resins and materials, particularly with respect to hazardous properties, drying times and temperature.\nMust be willing to learn forklift operation if not already certified.\nMust be able to do basic reading, writing and math.\nAbility to work independently under minimal supervision.\nAbility to meet the physical requirements for the position including but not limited to the ability to lift up to 50lbs.\nAbility to thrive in a fast- paced environment.\nAbility to multitask and reprioritize.\nStrong attention to detail.\nMust be able to work overtime as required.\nMust be detailed oriented.\nMust be self-motivated and able to complete tasks with little assistance.\nThis position is for 1st shift (7am-3pm) Monday through Friday 40hrs a week plus overtime as necessary.\nInterview Process: Candidates will complete a proficiency assessment upon arrival as part of the interview process.\nNote: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
