The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, accuracy, and compliance of GPS systems used in various military applications. This role requires in-depth knowledge of GPS standards and proficiency in GPS compliance test software.\n\nPrimary Duties:\nConduct comprehensive testing and validation of GPS systems to ensure they meet all relevant standards and requirements.\nDevelop and execute test plans, procedures, and scripts for GPS systems and USMC client systems.\nUtilize GPS compliance test software to evaluate performance, accuracy, and reliability.\nAnalyze test results, identify issues, and work with engineering teams to implement solutions.\nMaintain detailed documentation of test procedures, results, and any corrective actions taken.\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams, including software, hardware, and systems engineers, to ensure seamless integration and functionality of GPS systems.\nRemain current with the latest GPS standards, technologies, and industry best practices.\nProvide technical support and expertise to Marine Corps personnel regarding GPS systems and testing methodologies.\nAssist in the development and improvement of test methodologies and processes.\n\nSkills and Qualifications:\nStrong knowledge of GPS standards, including IS-GPS-153 Rev D and E, and other relevant standards (MSID-001A and NMEA-0183).\nKnowledge of MIL-STD-6017A and Variable Message Format (VMF) messaging.\nProficiency in using GPS compliance test software (CTS-153).\nExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills.\nStrong attention to detail and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.\nEffective communication skills, both written and verbal.\nAbility to obtain and maintain a security clearance.\nStrong customer relations, analytics, documentation skills\nSelf-starter, highly motivated, strong work ethic with a commitment to quality\nMicrosoft office suite proficiency, i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint\nAbility to work within a challenging, fast-paced, team-oriented environment\nAbility to work independently\nAbility to multi-task and meet competing, deliverable deadlines\nDetail oriented\nExcellent interpersonal and customer service skills\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills to provide clear status and/or communicate issues\nAbility to adapt to evolving technology\nPreferred Qualifications:\nKnowledge of Mounted Assured Positioning Navigation and Timing (PNT) System (MAPS) Generation (GEN) II (MAPS Gen II)/Mounted Assured Resilient Navigation (MARNAV) Block 1 (MARNAV Block 1)\nKnowledge of MAPS Maintenance Application (MMA) software\nExperience supporting military or defense-related projects.\nFamiliarity with other navigation and positioning systems (e.g., GNSS, GLONASS, Galileo).\nKnowledge of RF signal processing and simulation.\nEducation and Experience:\nBachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.\nRelevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.\nMinimum of 3 years of experience in GPS system testing and validation.\nWork Environment:\nThe position is based at MCTSSA, Camp Pendleton, California, with occasional travel to other testing sites or facilities as required.\nThe work may involve working in a lab environment and field-testing conditions.\nPhysical Requirements:\nAbility to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.\nAbility to work in various environmental conditions.\nClearance:\nThis position is subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. In order to complete the requirements for government security clearance investigation you must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to complete the full background investigation. This position requires an Active Secret Security Clearance.\n\nCompensation:\nWhile skills, education, and experience are key factors, they are not the sole determinants of salary. Other determining factors include but are not limited to location, contract budgets and requirements, and government labor category guidelines. The estimated salary range for this position is $125K to $175K annually.
