Candidates must possess strong fitting and welding skills, be capable of passing shipyard welding qualification tests, and meet applicable American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) welding certification requirements. Successful candidates will perform structural fabrication, assembly, fitting, and welding of marine vessels, offshore structures, and related components while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\nRead and interpret blueprints, drawings, weld symbols, specifications, and work instructions.\nLay out, fit, align, and assemble structural steel, aluminum, and marine components according to shipyard standards.\nPerform tack welding and final welding using approved welding procedures.\nWeld in various positions including flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead.\nOperate welding equipment including FCAW, SMAW, GMAW, and other processes as required by project specifications.\nFabricate and install bulkheads, decks, foundations, brackets, stiffeners, piping supports, and structural assemblies.\nUse measuring tools and layout equipment to ensure dimensional accuracy.\nInspect completed work to verify compliance with drawings, quality standards, and ABS requirements.\nMaintain a clean and safe work area in accordance with OSHA and shipyard safety regulations.\nWork effectively with supervisors, inspectors, and other trades to meet production schedules.\nPerform grinding, gouging, burning, and material preparation as required.\nFollow all company, customer, and regulatory safety procedures.\nRequired Qualifications\nMinimum of 3 years of shipyard, marine, offshore, heavy industrial, or structural welding/fitting experience.\nAbility to pass a shipyard welding test and practical fitter assessment.\nAbility to obtain and maintain applicable ABS welding qualifications/certifications.\nProficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, weld symbols, and fabrication drawings.\nExperience fitting and welding carbon steel and/or aluminum structures.\nKnowledge of welding codes, quality standards, and marine fabrication practices.\nAbility to work independently with minimal supervision.\nMust be able to work overtime, weekends, and shift work as required.\nWelding Skills Required\nCandidates must demonstrate proficiency in one or more of the following:\nFCAW (Flux Core Arc Welding)\nSMAW (Stick Welding)\nGMAW/MIG Welding\nCarbon Arc Gouging\nStructural and plate welding\nMulti-pass welds\nVertical and overhead welding\nWeld joint preparation and fit-up\nPhysical Requirements\nAbility to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.\nAbility to climb ladders, scaffolding, and access confined spaces.\nAbility to stand, bend, kneel, crouch, and work in physically demanding environments for extended periods.\nAbility to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.\nAbility to wear required PPE, including respirators when necessary.\nRelocation Requirement\nMust be willing to relocate or travel for projects throughout the Louisiana and Mississippi Gulf Coast region.\nReliable transportation required.\nPer diem and travel benefits may be available depending on project location.\nPreferred Qualifications\nCurrent ABS welding certifications.\nShipyard-specific welding qualifications.\nNCCER certification.\nOSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.\nExperience working on new construction, repair, retrofit, and conversion projects.\nWhy Join Elite Workforce LLC?\nCompetitive pay based on experience and qualifications.\nOpportunities for long-term shipyard and marine construction projects.\nCareer advancement opportunities.\nSafety-focused work environment.\nAccess to industry-leading marine and offshore employers.\nElite Workforce LLC is an Equal Opportunity Employer and considers all qualified applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other protected classification.\nPay: $24.65 -
