The role involves full lifecycle software development, from concept through production, working closely with cross-functional engineering teams in a complex, hardware-integrated environment.ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain embedded software for elevator control systemsImplement software features and change requests using high-level C/C++Participate in the full software development lifecycle including concept, design, validation, and productionDevelop and execute unit and integration tests in lab environments using hardware simulatorsCoordinate development activities across various elevator system components (control boards, field tools, etc.)Perform regression testing to support software releases and ongoing system enhancementsTroubleshoot field issues and deliver effective software solutionsDocument software requirements, design details, test procedures, and resultsManage configuration control and change management processesCollaborate in code reviews and adhere to established coding standardsWork across both legacy systems and new product developmentDevelop a strong understanding of elevator control hardware and system interfacesRequired Qualifications (Must-Haves) Education & Experience:BS/BA in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field + 7+ years of experience, ORMaster’s degree in Software Engineering or related field + 5+ years of experienceStrong experience in embedded C/C++ developmentHands-on experience with Embedded Linux or RTOS (e.g., VxWorks, ThreadX, Green Hills)Experience with inter-process communication and multi-threaded applicationsProficiency in VB.NET or C# for UI/UX simulator tool developmentExperience with communication protocols such as:CAN, RS232, RS422, RS485, SPI, I2CTimers, EEPROM, Flash driver interfacesExperience with version control systems (Git, Subversion, Atlassian tools)Strong debugging experience using tools such as:Emulators, logic/serial analyzers, remote debugging toolsOscilloscopes, JTAG/BDM, CANalyzerExperience with real-time debugging in embedded systemsPreferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Haves)Experience with Java or PythonExperience with ColdFire and ARM 32-bit microcontrollersFamiliarity with defect tracking tools (JIRA, Bugzilla)Understanding of cybersecurity principles in embedded systemsAbility to read and interpret hardware schematics (electrical 1-line and 3-line diagrams at a high level)Willingness and ability to work in elevator hoistways and machine rooms as neededExperience working in product-based companiesWhy Golden Technology?Founded in 1997, Golden Technology has grown from a two-person vision into a trusted partner for Fortune 500 clients nationwide.
