SH 934 Public Health Analyst and Documentation Specialist, IndianaPosition OverviewThis mid-level position works under the general direction of the Project Manager or Lead Public Health Analyst. Responsibilities include organizing, maintaining, and strengthening the documentation backbone for public health projects. The Public Health Analyst and Documentation Specialist is an integral member of the project team, contributing to the standardization, quality, and client-readiness of materials across data engineering, epidemiology, GIS, dashboard, and reporting workstreams.Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain and update standard operating procedures, data dictionaries, decision logs, task trackers, and meeting action items to ensure project continuity.Support quality assurance of dashboards, tables, reports, scripts, and public-facing language, identifying discrepancies and ensuring accuracy.Prepare client-ready summaries, status materials, and deliverable checklists in alignment with contract requirements and deadlines.Coordinate documentation across data engineering, epidemiology, GIS, and dashboard workstreams to promote cross-functional alignment.Support the development and maintenance of onboarding materials for new staff to facilitate efficient ramp-up.Monitor deliverable completeness against contract requirements and proactively communicate gaps or risks to the project lead.Assist in the creation and refinement of reusable templates for recurring reports and documentation needs.Participate in required project meetings, training sessions, and quality improvement initiatives to maintain and enhance skills.Observe and report any process inefficiencies or documentation gaps to the Project Manager in a timely manner.Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary team members, including technical and non-technical stakeholders, to support coordinated project delivery.Complete other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.Qualifications & RequirementsEducation: Bachelor s degree in Public Health, Health Administration, Communications, or a related field required. Master s degree preferred.Certifications: None required. Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) or similar is a plus.Experience: Minimum one year of experience supporting public health reports, dashboards, or client deliverables required. Experience with annual reports, community health reports, or surveillance products preferred.Skills: Strong public health writing and documentation skills with the ability to organize complex technical information. Detail orientation with strong quality assurance discipline. Familiarity with health equity, substance use, behavioral health, or population health preferred. Position requires sitting between 66% and 100% of time on duty. Use of hands to finger, handle, or feel over 66% of time on duty. Full ability to talk and hear.
