Join us on our mission to achieve net zero by 2050.\r\nThe Role\r\nAs a Building Engineer at Cambio, you will play a critical role in collaborating with our customers to implement their net-zero strategy for building sustainability. You will work alongside our Data Science team and our decarbonization machine learning models to analyze and implement best-in-class, energy-saving retrofit recommendations at our customers' properties. Your expertise in building science and engineering will not only help ensure that our model-recommended solutions are practical, effective, and aligned with industry standards but also push forward the capabilities of our automated decarbonization platform.\r\nWhat You Will Be Doing\r\nBuilding Retrofit Analytics: Apply Cambio's best-in-class ML models to generate energy conservation measures at hyper-scale for our real-estate customer\r\nCustomer Collaboration: Work closely with commercial real estate owners to understand their needs and develop their path to net zero across their portfolios.\r\nCompliance and Regulatory Analysis: Assist in delivering retrofit projects which comply with local, state, and federal regulations and help improve Cambio's automated regulatory analytics.\r\nPerformance Monitoring: Monitor the performance of retrofitted buildings and help analyze pre- and post-retrofit energy outcomes, cost savings, and carbon impact to further improve Cambio's impact for customers.\r\nData Science Collaboration: Work alongside our Data Science team to expand and refine the physics-based building science models underlying the Cambio decarbonization platform, e.g., by integrating data from building science datasets to improve the accuracy and effectiveness of model retrofit recommendations.\r\nImpact\r\nIn this role, you will achieve the following key accomplishments in your first 12-18 months:\r\nSuccessfully help our customers implement retrofit projects that significantly reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions across their portfolios.\r\nEstablish strong relationships with top real estate investor customers, serving as a trusted advisor as they deploy capital assets to decarbonize commercial real estate.\r\nImprove Cambio's machine learning models by applying building engineering expertise to enhance model effectiveness.\r\nContribute to the development of best practices and standards for building decarbonization within Cambio.\r\nProvide insights and feedback to our product and engineering teams to continuously improve our platform.\r\nQualifications\r\nEducational Background: Bachelor's degree in Building Science, Engineering, or a related field. Professional Engineer (P. Eng or P.E.) designation strongly preferred.\r\nExperience: 5+ years of experience in building engineering, with a focus on retrofit projects and energy efficiency. Experience signing & sealing projects as engineer of record (EOR) strongly preferred.\r\nTechnical Skills: Proficiency in building systems analysis and construction implementation, including systems design, site evaluation, energy modeling, and cost estimation.\r\nAnalytical Ability: Outstanding analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data from various sources and make data-driven recommendations.\r\nProject Management: Proven experience in managing retrofit projects from conception to completion.\r\nRegulatory Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of building codes, standards, and regulations related to energy efficiency and decarbonization.\r\nCommunication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.\r\nTeam Collaboration: Enthusiastically works collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including product, engineering, and customer success.\r\nLogistics\r\nWork Authorization: Authorization to work in the United States or Canada is required.\r\nLocation: This is a hybrid role, based out of our San Francisco office in the Financial District\r\nCompensation: This role is currently set at a salary range of ~$130,000-$170,000.\r\nWhat We Offer\r\nWe are a lean, growing, and high-performing team that works hard and is passionate about the climate problems we're working on.
