Scene Shop Foreman - Fabrication & Estimating

Job Description We are seeking an experienced Scene Shop Foreman to lead our fabrication team and oversee daily shop operations. This role is responsible for team leadership, project execution, and estimating project costs to ensure builds are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards.This is a hands-on leadership role in a fast-paced production environment. Key ResponsibilitiesLead and supervise a team of carpenters, welders, and fabricatorsOversee daily shop operations to ensure projects are completed on time and within budgetCollaborate with project managers, designers, and production teams to execute buildsReview drawings and plans to ensure accuracy and build feasibilityPrepare project estimates, including labor, materials, and fabrication costsAssist with budget planning and cost tracking throughout project lifecycleMaintain and manage material inventory and procurementEnsure all builds meet quality standards and client expectationsEnforce safety protocols and OSHA complianceMaintain a clean, organized, and efficient shop environmentTrack labor hours, materials, and project progressIdentify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste Qualifications5+ years of experience in scenic fabrication, trade show, theatrical, or similar industry2+ years in a leadership or foreman roleStrong knowledge of carpentry, welding, and fabrication techniquesExperience with estimating labor, materials, and production costsAbility to read and interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, and design plansStrong leadership, communication, and organizational skillsProven ability to manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environmentProblem-solving mindset with the ability to adapt quickly Physical RequirementsAbility to lift up to 50 lbsAbility to stand and work in a shop environment for extended periodsComfortable operating shop equipment and tools Work EnvironmentFast-paced scenic fabrication shopOvertime and weekend work may be required based on project schedules Apply TodayIf you're a hands-on leader who thrives in a production environment and can drive both execution and accurate estimating, we'd love to hear from you.Company DescriptionMerestone is an award-winning production company that specializes in creating custom-designed, high-end environments, including immersive experiences, stage sets, trade show booths, and marketing elements.
