{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"770f8353d00e2c6a77a395b3","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/770f8353d00e2c6a77a395b3","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/770f8353d00e2c6a77a395b3","title":"Structural Analysis Engineer","description":"ABOUT THE TEAM\nThe Structural Analysis Engineering team's work is essential to support our rapid innovation cycle and maintain the performance and reliability of advanced defense technologies.\n\nABOUT THE JOB\nWe are looking for a Structural Analysis Engineer to work in Costa Mesa, CA, with in-depth understanding of statics, dynamics, mechanics of materials, and materials properties.\n\nWHAT YOU’LL DO\n\nPerform static and dynamic structural analyses across sea, ground, air, and space domains using first principles and appropriate analysis methods (hand calculations, spreadsheets, scripts, detailed FEA)\n\nDevelop and own FEM creation and organization at the global and subsystem level\n\nCollaborate with hardware engineers to drive proper designs based on analytical results\n\nConduct and support validation testing, including instrumentation setup, data collection, and model correlation\n\nDocument analysis methodology and results in technical reports for internal teams and external stakeholders\n\nEnsure designs meet customer requirements, industry standards, and safety regulations\n\nStay current with advancements in analysis techniques, materials technology, and industry standards\n\nREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS\n\nBS or higher degree in engineering or applied physics with a focus in structures\n\nDeep understanding of statics, dynamics, mechanics of materials, and materials properties\n\nStructural testing experience (static, buckling, cyclic) including sensor selection, data acquisition, and data post-processing\n\nProficiency in FEA software (ANSYS, Abaqus, NASTRAN) solution sequences for linear and non-linear static and buckling analyses\n\nExperience with CAD tools (NX, Solidworks)\n\nProficiency in Matlab or Python (or equivalent) for developing analytical models, data acquisition, and automation\n\nHighly motivated, self-starting, and able to perform duties autonomously without supervision\n\nVery organized and willing to establish scope and requirements for ill-defined problems\n\nPassion for defending the United States and her allies\n\nBe able to obtain and hold a U.S. Top Secret security clearance\n\nPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS\n\n2+ years of experience in a structures, dynamics, or loads related role with high ownership and accountability for hardware outcomes\n\nMS or higher degree in engineering or applied physics with a focus in structures\n\nExperience with rotorcraft and/or turbomachinery\n\nAbility to develop workflow automation tools\n\nUS Salary Range\n$146,000 — $194,000 USD\n\nThe salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
