The position will work with derivatives trading and operations teams and collaborate with internal IT teams and technology/software vendors for system implementations. This position will be in Overland Park, Kanas or Topeka, Kansas. SB associates work in a hybrid environment, doing remote and on-site work.\n\nDevelop and maintain in-house-built applications and tools that streamline development and support processes, and troubleshoot the issues by debugging the application code, reproducing the problems, and providing solutions focused on user experience.\nImplement moderate to high complexity code changes that resolve incidents' root causes or enhance applications' operational characteristics that support business operations and client activity.\nDesire and ability to learn about and support existing applications.\nContinuously learn and develop technical skills and knowledge on full-stack software development to support business needs and technology changes.\nShould be flexible/willing to work across this delivery landscape, including but not limited to Applications Development, Support, and Deployment.\nUnderstand and gain expert knowledge on applications and play an SME role\nUnderstand application security & change management guidelines and ensure that appropriate controls are implemented and followed\nAble to handle multiple tasks of a highly varied nature on time\nOther projects as assigned to enhance further and automate the Derivatives Systems and operations.\nWhat We’re Looking For:\n\nBachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Technology, Information Systems, or related concentration.\nMinimum of 3 years of Software Engineering experience in Python Application Development\nHands-on experience with Python Programming with Flask / Django web API’s\nSolid understanding of object-oriented programming and software design principles\nExperience in developing RESTful APIs and web services with unit testing implementations\nProficient with VS Code and SQL Server/Snowflake.\nComfortably working with libraries like Pandas, NumPy, etc.\nFamiliarity with the Linux environment and containerized deployments\nBasic knowledge of code design principles such as object-oriented programming, data structures, and design patterns.\nPreferred:\n\nFinancial background and understanding of the financial markets, trading, FX\nExperience in AWS Services\nKnowledge of Tools like Jira, CICD, and Redis\nKnowledge of the financial services industry preferred\nBullet points for the candidate qualifications\nWhy Choose Security Benefit?\nWhen you join our team, you’re not just getting a paycheck — you’re getting a career path full of growth opportunities, plus a robust benefits package that puts your well-being first.
