The selected candidate will apply disciplined systems engineering processes across aircraft modernization, modification, and sustainment efforts, ensuring technical integrity, airworthiness, and mission readiness.\n\nHybrid Work Disclaimer: This position may allow for hybrid work; however, employees must be able and willing to travel and provide in-office or on-site support as required by customer requirements, project demands, or business needs.\n\nDuties\nLead systems engineering activities across the full acquisition lifecycle, including requirements development, system design, integration, verification, validation, and sustainment.\n\nApply NAVAIR and DoD systems engineering best practices to ensure traceability between operational requirements, engineering solutions, and verification activities.\n\nSupport development and maintenance of system requirements, interface control documents (ICDs), and technical baselines for aircraft and mission systems.\n\nConduct engineering analyses, trade studies, and technical assessments to support aircraft modifications and capability upgrades.\n\nProvide technical oversight of integration efforts involving avionics, communications, mission systems, and aircraft subsystems.\n\nSupport Systems Engineering Technical Reviews (SETRs), including SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, and PRR.\n\nCoordinate with Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to align engineering, logistics, test, and programmatic activities.\n\nSupport test and evaluation planning and execution, including developmental and operational test events.\n\nAssist with airworthiness certification activities and ensure compliance with applicable NAVAIR instructions and standards.\n\nIdentify and manage technical risks, issues, and opportunities, providing recommendations to program leadership.\n\nSupport configuration management processes in accordance with MIL-HDBK-61 principles.\n\nContribute to acquisition documentation, including Systems Engineering Plans (SEP), Test and Evaluation Master Plans (TEMP), and milestone decision packages.\n\nRequired Education\nBachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.\n\nRequired Experience\n12+ years of experience supporting DoD or naval aviation programs.\n\nDemonstrated experience applying systems engineering processes across the acquisition lifecycle.\n\nExperience supporting aircraft systems integration, modification, or sustainment efforts.\n\nFamiliarity with requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS or similar).\n\nStrong understanding of aviation systems, avionics, or mission system integration.\n\nDesired Qualifications\nExperience supporting Naval Air Systems Command programs, particularly tactical airlift platforms.\n\nFamiliarity with Naval Air Systems Command airworthiness processes and certification requirements.\n\nExperience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and digital engineering environments.\n\nKnowledge of sustainment engineering, reliability analysis, and obsolescence management.\n\nMaster's degree in a relevant engineering discipline.\n\nMust be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
