Terreva’s current portfolio is comprised of seven assets - approximately 20,000 scfm of raw landfill gas flow and 3.5 million MMBtu’s per year of RNG production (2025E) - in operation and construction across North America. Terreva is a portfolio company under the management of CIM Group, LLC.POSITION PURPOSE:The Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Engineer supports Terreva Renewables’ portfolio of renewable natural gas (RNG) facilities by ensuring the reliable design, operation, and maintenance of all instrumentation and control systems. This position plays a pivotal role in safeguarding accurate metering, robust data acquisition, and seamless SCADA integration for safe and efficient plant performance.This position is part of the Operations Department and reports to the VP, Systems Engineering.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Lead the design, implementation, and troubleshooting of instrumentation and control systems across multiple RNG plantsPerform remote and onsite troubleshooting, collaborating frequently with plant operators to resolve technical issues and optimize operationsDevelop, configure, and maintain SCADA systems for real-time monitoring and controlEnsure accurate metering and data acquisition for compliance and regulatory reportingSupport commissioning and start-up of new or upgraded systems, including calibration and functional testingProvide technical support to other departments including: development, project delivery, and operationsCreate preventative maintenance programs for all instrumentation and control assetsAssist with the development and deployment of cybersecurity protocols for control networksEnsure that all work complies with industry codes, safety standards, and and best practicesDocument all system configurations, modifications, and maintenance activities thoroughlyLead and promote safety at all projects through deployment of industry best practicesNON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Perform other duties as assigned in support of company goals and objectivesEDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: (including certification, licenses, etc.)Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Control Systems, or a related discipline (required)Minimum 3-5 years of experience in instrumentation and controls engineering in an industrial process environment.  Specific RNG, biogas, or gas pipeline experience a plusDemonstrated proficiency in SCADA systems, PLC programming, HMI development, Ignition software and industrial networkingStrong understanding of process instrumentation, measurement technologies, and data acquisition systemsExperience working with ISA, NFPA, API, and similar standardsKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:Experience with RNG production, landfill gas recovery, or wastewater treatment operationsKnowledge of cybersecurity best practices for industrial control systemsCompetence in data analytics and reporting toolsProject management experience related to controls and automationAbility to read and understand Construction Documents and SpecificationsAbility to work well as part of a teamSelf-motivated, team-oriented, and able to respond quickly to changing project demandsExceptional problem-solving abilities and attention to detailEffective communication and teamwork skills, with an emphasis on regular collaboration with plant operatorsAttention to detail while completing multiple or repetitive tasks with a high sense of urgencyAbility to organize, perform, and prioritize various functions to meet deadlines with minimal supervisionProficient with computer software, Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, and PowerPointDeadline-driven and ability to manage multiple tasksAbility to work independently and proactively evaluate and address work opportunities within the area of responsibilityAvailability for up to 50% travel*Applicants with disabilities may be entitled to reasonable accommodation under the terms of the Americans with Disabilities Act and certain state or local laws.
