The 15 member PMO team leads programs for >1k R&D staff. This position is part of the Aerospace and Defense Business.\n\nKey responsibilities:\nStage Gate Management and Oversight of Programs (This includes HW and SW)\nStage gate checklists updated and deliverables executed by the cross functional team managers/leads.\nEnsure the cross-functional team managers/leads provide all necessary management reporting and Stage Gate reviews for the Program\nOverall Budget Management for the Programs. This requires interaction with the other program managers, Engineering leads and finance.\nAccountability for overall business success of assigned New Product Development Programs (Schedule execution, Content, Quality and Financials)\nWork with Functional Managers to ensure resources are available and assigned to the Team\nEnsure each of the PMs and Leads develop and maintain an integrated program plan and schedule with Cross Functional Core Team\nLead the PMs/Core Team in managing and tracking program progress, including making tradeoff decisions to achieve Program objectives within a set of constraints defined by Senior Functional Management\nDrive fast resolution of barriers and issues with the Core Teams by elevating to appropriate level of Management for fast decision making\nProactive Risk Management through risk identification and development of risk mitigation plans with the Core Team\nProvide all necessary management reporting and reviews for the Program\nRecommend to Senior Functional Management the continued investment or closure of the Program based on projected business results\nPre-Requisites / Skills / Experience Requirements:\nQualifications:\nThis influential role requires a BS/MS degree in either EE, Physics, or Comp Sci and 10+ years hands-on experience in a high tech HW and SW environment\nThe successful candidate will have:\n10+ years hands-on experience developing hardware and software for highly technical new products\nMilitary Radio Telecommunications Domain experience\nRecent military contract background (CDRL decomposition, Statement of Work, TPS/APS development) and experience managing OEM military radio vendor deliverables\nExcellent leadership, communications and influencing skills operating at the Senior Management Level\nLeadership experience within a global matrix management organization\nExperience managing or operating within X-functional, multi-discipline teams\nDeep understanding of Product Development Lifecycle from Concept through to Launch/Shipment\nProven Track record of delivering results\nStrong business acumen; Understanding of key Financial metrics & levers\nBudget Forecasting and Tracking experience to ensure Financial targets are achieved.\nA proactive approach to risk management and continuous process improvement\nCan operate in both an Agile and Waterfall based development environments.\nPosition is in Wichita or Lenexa, Kansas\nKey Skills:\nMS Project or equivalent tool knowledge; Demonstrated Critical Path tracking.\nMS Office proficient\nProficient with Agile project tracking tools such in the Atlassian Tool Chain(Jira, Confluence)\nDemonstrated root cause analysis / process improvement methodologies\nPreferred Skills:\nRF test measurement equipment program management\nKnowledge of AI tools for Program Management Efficiency\nCI/CD and DevOps knowledge.
