Hours of shifts are typically:\nDays: 8:00AM to 4:30PM\nSplit: 10:30AM to 7:00PM\nEvenings: 3:30PM to 12:00AM (Midnight)\nNights: 12:00AM (Midnight) to 8:00AM\nRequirements for CT: Must perform General Diagnostic procedures to include fluoroscopy, OR, and portables. Must be familiar with GE. Must poses ARRT (CT) certification.\nKnowledge of Philips Intelli Space PACS highly desirable.\nAll modality technologists work under the general supervision of a Radiologist or other\nmedical officers. Examinations are frequently made additionally complex due to serious\nillness, injuries and mental or physical incapacity of the patient. The technologist may be\nrequired to devise non-standard positioning or equipment set- ups.\n· Appropriate dress, odorless, lab coat and/or scrubs at all times.\n· ID badge must be worn at all times above the waste while on station.\n· Maintains courteous customer service skills toward patients, visitor and\nstaff.\n· Secures patient's confidence cooperation\n· Operates ionizing and/or sealed source radiation equipment\n· Calculates and maintain records of therapeutic and cumulative doses\n· Receives patients by checking name, social security number or date of\nbirth and explaining the procedures to be performed per the request\nand assessment.\n· Archiving and documentation of procedure and other pertinent\ninformation.\n· Image annotation, evaluation, labeling and image quality for optimal\ndemonstration of anatomic region, pathology and exam completeness\nfor timely interpretation.\n· Exam protocol, including patient positioning and image display.\n· Evaluation of requisition or medical record.\n· Explain and confirm patient's preparation prior to\nradiographic/fluoroscopic or ultrasound examinations.\n· Examine radiographic requisitions and radiation oncology prescriptions\nto verify accuracy and completeness of information.\n· Responsible for medical equipment attached to patients during the\nradiographic procedures.\n· Provide for patient safety, comfort, and modesty.\n· Practice standard precautions; assures the cleanliness of the room, and\nre-stocks supply cabinet at the end of the tour.\n· Select immobilization devices, when indicated, to prevent patient's\nmovement and/or ensure patients safety.\n· Use proper body mechanics and/or mechanical transfer devices when\nassisting patients.\n· Recognize need for prompt medical attention and administer\nemergency care.\n· Maintain confidentiality of patient's information.\n· Take appropriate precautions to minimize radiation exposure to patient\nand staff.\n· Check equipment for working conditions prior to patient's examination.\nNotifies the supervisor of any equipment problems.\n· Greet patients arriving in the department and may assists in scheduling\nappointment, verifying appointment, and or answering the phone and\nproviding general information as needed or requested.\n· Calls down scheduled in-patients for examination.\n· Records the nature of, and circumstances surrounding events occurring\nin the Radiology Service during the assigned tour and notifies the\nRadiologist \"On-Call\" or supervisory technologist.\n· Remains on duty until relieved by the next shift of employees.\n· Report for duty on time or call your supervisor to report\nabsence/tardiness no later than one hour before the beginning of the\ntour scheduled.\n· When working without the benefit of radiologist on duty, and an\ninappropriate examination request is received, the contract technologist\nwill contact the radiologist on-call to recommend a more appropriate\nexamination.\n· Enters required data in the Decentralized Hospital Computer Program\n(DHCP).\n· Selects technical factors and appropriate protocols using established\ncriteria.\n· Advises radiologist/nuclear medicine physician of results of\nexaminations and notifies them of significant scans requiring their\nimmediate attention and visualization while patient is undergoing\nexamination and/or before the patient departs.\n· On-call could be required for all modalities and would have 15 minutes\nto respond to call and 60 minutes to be on-site.\nA-Team Solutions is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
