{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"764fae127569d8cb7c2ba258","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/764fae127569d8cb7c2ba258","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/764fae127569d8cb7c2ba258","title":"Processing Plant Operator- Trainee","description":"Classification\nNon-Exempt\n\nReports To\nPlant Manager\n\nSummary/Objective\nAid in the Processing plant in departments and all positions as a team member to make sure that food products are processed according to quality specifications and customer needs.\n\nEssential Functions\nThe Plant Operator is responsible for assisting in all areas of the plant including all production areas while meeting production deadlines, ensuring quality standards are met and following all safety standards.\n\nResponsible for Product Movement.\n\nAssure quality and food safety and personal safety are observed.\n\nKnowledge of machinery upkeep and operation.\n\nTracking and rotation of product.\n\nAbility to perform sanitation tasks as assigned.\n\nCommunicate and Work as a Team Member.\n\nParticipate in some discussion about confidential/sensitive matters.\n\nCommunicate with employees and others through written, oral, and face-to-face interactions.\n\nAssist other team members in completion of work.\n\nFollow HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) compliance guidelines.\n\nCommunicate with fellow employees to complete tasks and adhere to safety standards.\n\nAbility to work flexible work schedules with varying hours as required.\n\nKnowledge and adherence of GMP’s (Good Manufacturing Practices).\n\nInclude inspecting product coming out of various machines to ensure proper removal of waste and inspect that proper cuts are made.\n\nOperate equipment as directed by management and per safety protocols and operating instructions.\n\nInterface with maintenance crew to ensure equipment operations are consistent with product quality standards. Alert maintenance or management when equipment or product quality falls below standards or there are safety concerns.\n\nWork with sanitation crew to ensure cleanliness of area equipment and ensure food safety standards are adhered to.\n\nMaintain appropriate housekeeping and sanitation procedures within the plant and wash down station regularly and as required.\n\nProvide prompt, friendly and courteous service to internal and external customers.\n\nContinually pursue sustainability of our natural resources with every decision, decreasing waste and being conscious of individual choices.\n\nAdvocate positive change within our plant and company, empowering one another.\n\nOther duties as required.\n\nAlways work to produce products people can trust by recognizing poor quality coming off the processing machines or at your station and communicating with management.\n\nRotate to assigned locations as instructed by the lead.\n\nPush and pull hoppers and carts as needed.\n\nPerform all the following basic functions of each of the following departments as assigned:\n\nPackaging\n\nFill orders per special customer requests and work to deliver in a timely and efficient manner.\n\nPrepare boxes and packaging as required to meet customer orders.\n\nPalletize and stack boxes according to established methods and practices.\n\nPackage product safely in accordance with quality standards while working towards approved run rates.\n\nAssist other departments as needed.\n\nOperate hand jack in a safe manner.\n\nEvisceration\n\nSort fish according to specification while paying close attention to detail and always working towards continual improvement.\n\nAssure the proper size of fish loaded into the correct machine.\n\nOperate hoppers in a safe and efficient manner according to best practices.\n\nMonitor quality of cuts and assure supervisor is notified when quality degrades.\n\nReceive fish in the holdings ponds as assigned and follow proper procedures to process all received fish in a safe and efficient manner.\n\nTrimming\n\nComplete all tasks including equipment operations and knife handling based on required safety guidelines.\n\nLoad machines and operate equipment working on reach established run rates for the machine.\n\nInspect and Trim fish, remove bones and fat while preserving as much as the fish as possible. The worker can be subject to cold and wet conditions.\n\nPhysical Demands\n\nOften requires walking or moving to accomplish tasks.\n\nOften requires standing for sustained periods of time.\n\nOccasionally requires stooping and reaching.\n\nOccasionally requires pushing using upper extremities to press against something with steady force.\n\nOccasionally requires pulling using upper extremities to exert force to draw, drag, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion.\n\nLifting is required on an occasional basis.\n\nOften requires feeling of products perceiving attributes of objects, such as size, shape, temperature, or texture by touching with skin, particularly that of fingertips.\n\nRepetitive Motions are required which involve substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.\n\nPosition Type/Expected Hours of Work\nFull-time position work 5 days a week, weekdays and some weekends as required\n\nExpected Hours of Work: Work hours vary and will range from 3:30 AM – 7:00 PM, whenever processing is complete.\n\nTravel\nNo travel required\n\nRequired Education and Experience\n\nExemplary Attendance.\n\nAbility to communicate both verbally and in written form.\n\nAbility to adhere to safety standards.\n\nThe ability to speak, read, hear, understand and follow directions with or without reason-able accommodations is required.\n\nPreferred Education and Experience\n\nAbility to communicate clearly in English and Spanish preferred.\n\nLeadership Potential\n\nH.S.
