{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"764db97796f86d3cebb245ec","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/764db97796f86d3cebb245ec","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/764db97796f86d3cebb245ec","title":"Directional Drill Operator","description":"Directional Drill Operator\nJob Description: The Directional Drill Operator is responsible for operating different directional drilling and other equipment required for underground construction.\nResponsibilities:\nAssist site Foreman with supervision\nOperate drill equipment and various other equipment in conjunction with drilling duties. i.e., Directional Drill, Hydro-Vac, Excavator, etc.\nResponsible to read locate paint or locate flags of utility placement and possess the ability to read the job layout including valves and meter housings that may or may not have been located.\nEnsuring Company assets (vehicles, equipment, tools, etc.) are properly and continuously maintained in good repair and secured in a safe manner.\nRead blueprints organization of materials and other resources as necessary to complete excavation requirements, which may include basic hand tools.\nMaintain bore logs & red-lines.\nMaintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.\nAll other duties as assigned by Foreman.\nTechnical Skills:\nAbility to identify and use the tools required for maintaining and servicing the drill, drill stem, and rack as well as the ability to diagnose and/or relay any problems to a certified repair technician\nAbility to read and interpret construction and engineering plans\nAbility to research land and plat information and communicate design prints\nAbility to accurately sketch and record field notes and computations for as-builts\nAbility to perform and/or instruct entry-level skills and practices as required\nEducation:\nHigh school diploma or G.E.D. plus 5-10 years of experience operating a direction drill; or equivalent combination of education and experience.\nExperience:\n3-5 years of experience as a Directional Drill Locator.\nAbility to drill drilling in both standard and high-risk areas, such as areas with live utilities.\nAbility to listen to and implement directions.\nKnowledge of highway traffic control standards.\nKnowledge of operation and maintenance of all equipment.\nKnowledge of Underground Construction practices.\nKnowledge of health and safety regulations, practices, and procedures.\nKnowledge of reading and interpreting customer design prints.\nPhysical Requirements:\nA valid drivers class A license is required.
