Performs advanced security tasks across all Physical Security functional areas.\n\nDistinguishing Characteristics\nThis is a job classification within the Public Safety-Emergency Management job family. The Security Intelligence Analyst assists in security threat, risk, and vulnerability assessment classification and completion using qualitative and quantitative methods. Develops threat and risk analysis scenarios and response procedures. Conducts advanced physical security intelligence tasks and functions. Provides input into security policies, standards, practices, and procedures. May require a flexible work schedule to meet the needs of the department.\nDuties and Responsibilities\nResponsible for working within the Corporate Security Program and providing direct risk intelligence support in Corporate Security functional areas of business resilience, physical security, supply chain, and business continuity.\nEstablish and maintain cross-functional relationships with key internal business partners to facilitate information exchange and production of joint risk intelligence products where applicable.\nConducting briefings on identified risks and delivery of custom forward-looking resilience risk assessments on an as-needed basis.\nWork with contract partners to prepare, maintain, and manage detailed risk intelligence assessments of our regions, countries, and specific locations.\nPrepare regular briefs on security issues for dissemination.\nProduce, maintain, and disseminate threat intelligence summaries focused on functional areas (e.g., physical security, supply chain,)\nProvide timely risk intelligence in support of Corporate Security Crisis Management and Response plans to ensure effective preparedness after disruptive events, disasters, crime, terrorism, malicious attacks, and human error.\nProvide the Executive Protection team with threat intelligence assessments related to planned travel of executives, high profile events, and other county functions.\nProvide rapid assessments of “breaking” security situations and complex issues that could affect operations (e.g., natural disasters, epidemics, pandemics, crime, civil unrest, strikes/riots, kidnapping, political instability, terrorism, activism, economic interruptions, cyber-attacks, and transportation-related catastrophes)\nConducts regular monitoring of open-source intelligence, social media platforms, and client-specific intelligence gathering tools for known and potential threats to employees, county assets, elections, and reputation.\nCollect, analyze, and communicate to support Security investigations in matters related to employee welfare, security incidents, and critical situations.\nUtilize internal and external systems and information to monitor threats and risks (such as natural disasters, security incidents, terrorist events, and geopolitical situations) that could adversely impact the county’s personnel, travelers, assets, facilities, and/or reputation.\nCollect and validate intelligence, assess the credibility and reliability of open-source information.\nTrack, document, and report progress on projects and initiatives in areas of responsibility.\nSupport security leadership incident updates, including but not limited to strategic, tactical, and operational threats of concern and briefing key assessments.\nDeliver analytical assessments in clear, succinct, and appropriately caveated products that project credibility, convey recommendations, and reinforce key messages.\nIdentify threat assessment and management gaps and prepare detailed specifications for collection.\nSupport the management of information, presentation of information, and production of graphics.\nConduct comprehensive research on complex topics independently or as part of a larger analytical effort.\nMonitor all-source information to identify and assess the likelihood and severity of threats proactively.\nProduce high-quality, timely, and tailored threat assessments for internal stakeholders while managing sensitive or confidential data.\nConduct open-source research to assess the potential impact of all-hazard threats.\nPerform other job responsibilities as assigned.\nMinimum Requirements\nEducation and Experience:\nBachelor's degree in Homeland Security, Criminal Justice, Intelligence, or a directly related field AND three (3) years of increasingly responsible risk and intelligence analyst experience in a comparable position.\n\nOR,\n\nAny combination of education and experience, inclusive of risk and intelligence analyst experience, that has been achieved and is equivalent to the stated education and experience and required knowledge, skills, and abilities sufficient to successfully perform the duties and responsibilities of this job.\n\nLicenses, Registrations, Certifications, or Special Requirements:\nValid Texas Driver’s License.\nSuccessful Texas Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) presenting complex requirements to County Staff.\nExcellent writing, interpersonal communication, and organizational skills in a variety of situations.\nProficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) to effectively track and manage deliverables.\n\nSkill in:\nManaging time well, performing multiple tasks and organizing diverse activities.\nPresenting facts, precedents, and recommendations orally and in writing and apply where necessary, negotiation and mediation skills.\nProblem-solving and decision-making.\nBoth verbal and written communication, including
