Plant Maintenance Technician
Job Description:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for taking point and performing a variety of types of simple preventive and routine maintenance and repairs, including simple electrical, mechanical, plumbing, or carpentry work. Refers more complex work to outside contractors. Under general supervision performs routine and non-routine preventive, maintenance, and repair work on mechanical equipment throughout the entire plant. Ensures that all equipment is functioning satisfactorily. Makes repairs or reports equipment problems as needed.
Primary Objectives:
Working with maintenance task and PM software.
Working with teams to keep production going.
Routine preventative maintenance and various mechanical repairs.
Comply with safe work practices, rules and policies including quality related procedures.
Responsibilities:
Maintaining our maintenance software tasks and PM’s
Maintains general upkeep and repair of facility, machines, and equipment.
Assists where needed in general housekeeping of the facility.
Responsible for assigned work projects to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
May provide guidance to other employees on proper maintenance of equipment.
Logs and maintains records of Preventative Maintenance information.
Perform tasks such as: simple electrical, mechanical, plumbing and carpentry work.
Depending on skill level may assist in troubleshooting machinery breakdowns or malfunctions, identifying the cause and repairing/replacing malfunctioning components.
Coordinate complex work to outside contractors.
With OSHA knowledge, maintains lock out tags.
All other duties assigned.
Qualifications:
Semi-skilled position requiring some trade school or equivalent of 3 to 5 years of relevant experience preferred, but minimum 1 year of maintenance experience required.
Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively.
Strong listening and problem-solving skills.
Excel at working in team environment with high level of interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to cross functionally drive results.
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft outlook, Word, and Excel,
Ability to lift 50 pounds throughout the day.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
