The Managed Services Engineer is critical in gathering and understanding technical requirements to provide guidance for WAN/LAN network configurations. This role requires the ability to design and document robust call flows and solutions that provide maximum voice resiliency and business continuity.\n\nResponsibilities\n\nVoice and Network Design/Deployment.\nLead customer network design discussions and calls.\nAssess location network and infrastructure readiness.\nIdentify telephony requirements including structured cabling needs.\nDesign tailored Layer 2/3 network infrastructure.\nConfigure and deploy Adtran and Cisco switches and routers.\nDesign and configure call flows on Metaswitch and Intermedia UC platforms.\nClient Engagement.\nLead cross discipline and cross-functional discussions to gather to understand client requirements and provide technical insights.\nCommunicate project plans and technical impacts clearly to stakeholders.\nAssess telephony readiness and recommend cabling and infrastructure upgrades.\nClearly and professionally communicate project plans, potential impacts and remediation requirements to customers.\nTrack and manage time effectively to accomplish multiple ongoing projects.\n\nQualifications\n\n5+ years of experience in voice-focused roles.\nFamiliarity with UCaaS systems, Zoom/Zoom Phone, Microsoft Teams, Ring Central, or similar service provider cloud platforms is strongly preferred.\nExperience working in a service provider environment is preferred.\nBe proficient using Wireshark and reading PCAPs.\nHave a deep understanding of SIP and SIP call flows.\nComfortable using the command line on Adtran, Cisco, or Juniper hardware.\nComfortable configuring enterprise SBCs or firewalls.\nAble to diagnose, identify, and resolve IP network problems.\nCisco, Adtran or SIP School certification is a plus.\nHigh School Diploma or equivalent.\nAll qualified applicants will be considered regardless of location.\n\nLightpath is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to recruiting, hiring and promoting qualified people of all backgrounds regardless of gender, race, color, creed, national origin, religion, age, marital status, pregnancy, physical or mental disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, military or veteran status, or any other basis protected by federal, state, or local law.\n\nLightpath collects personal information about its applicants for employment that may include personal identifiers, professional or employment related information, photos, education information and/or protected classifications under federal and state law.
