R&D Reliability Engineer - Quality for Transformer Failures (f/m/d) In this role you will be responsible for coordination and synchronization of activities that are contributing to bettering the Transformer as a product from technology perspective. Your focus will be management and contribution towards Test Failure analysis investigations and improvement coordination on a Global level with company domain experts and Quality operations functions. You will also build up and propose a program for increasing the Reliability of our transformers in the future. How you’ll make an impact Test failure database and software maintenance Report handling, communication of resolution and oversight from technology perspective on improvement actions Root cause analysis and improvements of processes Defining the strategy and process for reliability execution in transformers Exploring and improving Risk Analysis techniques, product and process testing, Failure Mode Effect Analysis, and field data analysis Adapting quality tools and methods for technology oversight in Power Transformers Follow up on defined failure containment and preventive actions Your background Successful study (Bachelor or Masters) in Electrical Engineering – alternatively a comparable technical education Minimum 10 years of professional experience in Designing Power Transformers Experience in Quality functions will be beneficial Experience in Transformer Service will be beneficial Project Management experience will be an advantage Willing to work in remote and diverse environment Very good communication skills combined with knowledge of English language that will allow effective communication Location Bad Honnef, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany Job type Full time Experience Experienced Job function Engineering & Science Contract Regular Publication date 2026-03-30 Reference number R0120804 About Hitachi Energy Hitachi Energy is a global technology leader in electrification, powering a sustainable energy future through innovative power grid technologies with digital at the core.
