Welder - Submarine Building
THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN GREEN BAY WISCONSIN Basic Job Purpose: This position is responsible for the general fabrication of mechanical parts. This position may also be asked to use pneumatic or electric hand tools to perform such tasks as deburr or surface prep of metal parts. This position must be able to follow both written and verbal work instructions as well as interface with the enterprise time keeping system as well as interface with machine controls. This position must also be able to use and read basic machine shop measuring equipment that includes, but may not be limited to dial calipers, tape measures, and protractors. Operate hand-welding equipment to join metal components, or to fill holes, indentations, or seams of fabricated metal products Ability to read work orders, blueprints, instructions, formulas, and/or processing charts to ensure precise and accurate welding in agreement with the customer's design specificationsIdentify non-conformances during inspection of component parts and properly document such non-conformances.Communicate and problem solve with others in a reasonable and professional manner and work effectively in a team environmentMaintain and keep welding equipment in good working order - free of debris and perform proper maintenanceMaintain clean equipment, tools, and work areaFollow established safety procedures and work safely all dayFollow all relative ISO 9000 proceduresRecord an accurate log of job times and specifications for audit report Minimum Requirements for Education, Skillset, Qualifications, and Experience:Education/Experience:A technical degree/certificate in WeldingIn lieu of a technical degree/certificate, an equivalent combination of 1-3 years of experience in welding of alloys could be substitutedExperience with TIG welding is desired but not required Skills & Abilities:Basic understanding of blueprintsBasic math skillsAbility to read a tape measureAbility to read weld symbols and sizesAbility to follow directions and ask questions
