Key responsibilities include analyzing production challenges, determining root causes, and implementing effective corrective actions to prevent recurrence.\nSolutions may involve design modifications, process improvements, equipment implementation, development of new manufacturing methods, enhanced quality control measures, creation of work instructions, and other continuous improvement initiatives.\nThe ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with excellent interpersonal and communication abilities. This role collaborates closely with multiple departments across the organization and requires the ability to clearly explain technical issues and solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences.\nShifts Available:\n1st Shift: 5AM-2:00PM\nSwing Shift: 10AM-6PM\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS\nConduct root cause investigations for non-conforming products and implement effective corrective and preventive actions to eliminate recurring issues.\nDesign, specify, develop, and implement tooling, fixtures, and equipment required to support manufacturing operations.\nOversee the maintenance, repair, and continuous improvement of production fixtures and tooling.\nDevelop and maintain manufacturing work instructions, procedures, and process documentation that clearly define production methods and quality requirements.\nCreate and maintain visual workmanship standards and key process documentation to support consistent product quality.\nCollaborate with Design Engineering to identify, evaluate, and implement product and process improvements that address manufacturing challenges and enhance efficiency.\nResearch, evaluate, justify, and implement new equipment, technologies, and manufacturing methods to improve productivity, quality, and cost effectiveness.\nProvide technical training and ongoing support to production personnel on manufacturing processes, equipment operation, and best practices.\nDesign, develop, and implement manufacturing work cells, including equipment selection, facility layout, workflow optimization, and process validation.\nProvide technical support related to vendor-supplied tooling, equipment, and manufacturing processes, including supplier evaluations and performance assessments.\nPerform periodic audits, inspections, and evaluations of manufacturing equipment, processes, and work areas to ensure compliance with quality and operational standards.\nSupport continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, delivery, and operational efficiency.\nPerform special projects and provide additional technical support as assigned by the Manufacturing Engineering Manager.\nCOMPETENCIES\nProficiency with SolidWorks, including 3D modeling, design, and finite element analysis (FEA).\nStrong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.\nDemonstrated expertise in root cause analysis methodologies and structured problem-solving techniques.\nExperience driving process improvement initiatives in a manufacturing environment.\nKnowledge of Wheatstone bridge circuits, strain gage technology, and fundamental electronic principles.\nStrong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.\nAbility to work independently while effectively collaborating across multiple departments.\nCommitment to following established procedures, maintaining documentation, and supporting quality standards.\nREQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE\nBachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.\nMinimum of 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role supporting production operations, process development, and continuous improvement initiatives.\nPREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE\nExperience with force measurement devices, load cells, torque transducers, strain gages, or related sensor technologies.\nMaster’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering or a related engineering field.\nSix Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or other continuous improvement certification and training.\nExperience in a low-volume, high-mix manufacturing environment.\nFamiliarity with ERP/MRP systems and manufacturing data analysis.\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS:\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
