Mill Operator Job Summary: The purpose of this position is to mill the rare earth magnet material into a powder that can be pressed. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Adhere to required safety precautions: Isopropyl Alcohol Flammable Powder Nitrogen/Argon gases Material Handling (lift up to 50lbs.) Crane Safety Clean and prepare mills, powder containers and work area to set standards. Accurately weigh material as specified for load and transfer material into specified mill. Operate machinery Ball mills 2:17 and 1:5 Jet mills Particle size analyzer Crusher system Box crusher Nitrogen boxes and purge lines Perform required preventative maintenance. Continually monitor mills and milled material for particle size accuracy. Meet established production rates and quality standards. Verify and accurately record data into ERP computer system, manufacturing routers, logs, databases and control charts. Perform in process inspection as required. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. 1-2 years of manufacturing experience. Ability to read and interpret part prints. Basic troubleshooting skills. Work Environment and Physical Demands: Works in a clean, well-lit production environment; requires protective footwear and eyewear. Regularly stands on cement floors with rubber mats; may involve sitting, stooping, bending, and walking. Capable of lifting and transporting an average weight of 10 lbs., up to a maximum of 50 lbs. Requires manual dexterity and near visual acuity. Ability to understand verbal instructions and comply with quality and safety regulations. Weekend Shift - Friday through Sunday 6:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. 36 hours
