Training includes both classroom and on-the-job training and would incorporate both conceptual and hands‑on instructional methods. Responsibilities would also include participation in testing and evaluation of new tools, materials, and equipment, the ongoing revision and maintenance of standards and procedures, conducting of quality assurance audits and supervision evaluation and certification of field employees.\n\nEssential Functions\n\nWorks with field personnel and supervisors to analyze job tasks and current field performance to determine training needs and program content.\n\nEffectively implements training programs and field quality audit programs.\n\nSupervises, directs and instructs trainees during classroom, hands‑on and on‑the‑job training assignments.\n\nEvaluates performance to ensure all trainees are sufficiently trained to perform their assigned duties by reviewing and evaluating field and methods in refresher training.\n\nEnsures that work is performed in accordance with appropriate Company standards and work methods including monitoring for a high quality of workmanship. Provides employee feedback and seeks to enhance performance and safety.\n\nDirects efforts to achieve top quartile excellence regarding safe work practices and safety performance.\n\nPromotes teamwork among and between all members of the electric distribution and transmission organizations and other internal groups.\n\nNew equipment and “Moment of Need” training at AWC’s as needed.\n\nClassroom and hands‑on‑training in the Wareham MA Training Yard to include:\n\nJob Site Setup\n\nInstallation and removal of Underground cable and equipment\n\nSplicing/Jointing/Terminating cable of various voltages and configurations.\n\nSafe operation of switchgear.\n\nSwitching and tagging.\n\nYearly refresher training for qualified line‑workers.\n\nTechnical Knowledge/Skill/Education/Licenses/Certifications\nTechnical Knowledge/Skill:\n\nRequires knowledge of utility transmission and distribution system design, operations, maintenance, and construction principles and practices, safety standards and business processes.\n\nExcellent communication skills, ability to present theory and concepts, as well as hands‑on technical instruction with clarity, confidence, and enthusiasm.\n\nRequires leadership, coaching abilities and schedule management skills.\n\nAbility to use PC desktop applications (e.g., Microsoft Word & Excel).\n\nWorking knowledge of labor contracts.\n\nEducation:\n\nBachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business Administration or related discipline or equivalent experience.\n\nExperience:\n\nMinimum of eight (8) years of direct craft experience in Transmission, Distribution and/or Field Service design and/or installation, servicing customers and supervising employees.\n\nTraining or instructional experience preferred.\n\nLicenses & Certifications:\n\nDriver’s License, D.O.T. preferred\n\nWorking Conditions\n\nMust be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required.\n\nMust be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.\n\nPlease submit a resume with your application.\n\nCompetencies\nBuild trusting relationships\n\nManage and develop people\n\nFoster teamwork and cross-functional collaboration\n\nLead change\n\nCommunicate strategic vision\n\nCreate an engaged workforce\n\nFocus on the customer\n\nTake ownership & accountability\n\nCompensation and Benefits\nEversource offers a competitive total rewards program.
