If you’re hungry to build a varied and meaningful career in a community of brilliant and diverse minds to make a real difference, there’s only one choice.\n\nDevOps Engineer Co-op\n\nAs a Software Solutions Co‑op, you develop custom solutions by designing, programming, implementing, and maintaining software solutions to meet business opportunities; you estimate implementation effort and feasibility of incoming improvement ideas through opportunity definition, business process analysis, and requirement gathering; you write high‑quality, efficient, scalable, and sustainable code according to company best practices within an agile methodology when custom solutions are required; you clearly document all custom solutions by generating documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, data flows, and source code comments; you create job aids and training materials when necessary and provide operational support for a variety of configurable off‑the‑shelf software solutions (COTS) as well as internally developed applications.\n\nYOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES\n\nThe primary responsibilities of this role are to:\n\nDevelop custom software solutions to meet business opportunities by designing, programming, implementing, and maintaining software;\nEstimate implementation effort and feasibility of incoming improvement ideas through opportunity definition, business process analysis, and requirement gathering;\nWrite high‑quality, efficient, scalable, and sustainable code according to company best practices within an agile methodology when custom solutions are required;\nClearly document all custom solutions by generating documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, data flows, and source code comments;\nCreate job aids and training materials when necessary;\nProvide operational support for a variety of configurable off‑the‑shelf software solutions (COTS) as well as internally developed applications;\nInterface with technical professionals from other disciplines to spur investment, design, and development of digitalization projects;\nLeverage available cloud services through Azure, Google Cloud, or Amazon AWS where possible to speed up solution delivery;\nConnect site systems to enterprise data warehousing technologies to enable data visualizations, dashboarding, and reporting;\nBuild simple to moderately complex data visualizations for KPIs or other performance metrics as defined by internal customers;\nBalance and prioritize work amongst multiple efforts ongoing in parallel.\n\nWHO YOU ARE\n\nBayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:\n\nRequired Qualifications:\n\nEnrolled or have completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technology field;\nSuccessfully completed sophomore year or higher;\nAbility to drive to and from the work location;\nWillingness to work in a chemical plant environment;\nAbility to work 40 hours per week and physically willing and able to climb stairs and ladders;\nAvailable for a minimum 6‑month Co‑op assignment.\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\nMinimum overall GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.\n\nEmployees can expect to be paid a salary of approximately between $24.00 to $43.25. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc..
