The position has responsibility for approximately 45 hourly operators, working closely with 3 Paper Machine Managers to support day-to-day operations and develop long term improvement strategies to drive results in all aspects of the business. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years experience working in, leading recycled fiber operations with a strong technical knowledge of these systems and related equipment within the paper industry. Responsibilities: Develop and implement strategies to optimize the performance of the Stock Prep, OCC, and Material Handling equipment Monitor and assess equipment performance and identify areas for improvement Develop reports and presentations to communicate results and progress Perform troubleshooting when needed in all areas of Fiber Operations Help develop and implement capital and maintenance projects related to the Fiber Operations Develop training and educational programs for Fiber Operations personnel Develop and maintain strong relations with internal personnel as well as external contractors Provide technical support and guidance to Fiber Operations personnel Maintain a safe and secure working environmentSkillspulp & paper, continuous improvement, erp system, Fiber OperationsTop Skills Detailspulp & paper,continuous improvementAdditional Skills & Qualifications 10+ years of experience with paper making/recycled fiber operations - Paper Science or Engineering degree preferred - Experience working with refining, pulping, screening, and detrashing systems - Experience making data-based decisions - Experience working with an ERP system is a plus - Strong communication skills are requiredExperience LevelIntermediate LevelAbout ActalentActalent is a global leader in engineering and sciences services and talent solutions.
