We're looking for a Lead Mechanical/Aerospace Engineer to help turn ambitious concepts into real-world flight systems.\r\nThis is a hands-on, high-impact role where you'll lead the design, fabrication, and testing of early prototypes, working closely with the founding team to transform CAD models into fully integrated, flying systems.\r\nResponsibilities\r\nDesign and develop components and systems for lighter-than-air (LTA) aircraft, including structure, propulsion, and control systems.\r\nCreate detailed system architectures and mechanical design plans.\r\nLead a small, multidisciplinary engineering team while collaborating with external partners and fabricators.\r\nDrive integration across aerodynamics, structures, propulsion, and avionics to ensure cohesive system performance.\r\nParticipate directly in fabrication, prototyping, assembly, and flight testing.\r\nDevelop and execute mechanical and structural test plans and validation procedures.\r\nContribute creativity, technical insight, and initiative to accelerate the company's R&D roadmap.\r\nQualifications\r\nDeep passion for aircraft, advanced materials, and emerging aerospace technologies.\r\nM.S. or Ph.D. in Aerospace, Mechanical, or related engineering field.\r\n1–5 years of experience in aerospace, robotics, or advanced prototyping environments.\r\nProficiency in CAD/CAM, structural analysis, rapid prototyping, and manufacturing methods.\r\nKnowledge of GD&T, materials science, and mechanical system design.\r\nHands-on experience building complex systems (e.g., UAVs, rockets, Formula SAE, CubeSats, or similar).\r\nProven ability to lead and execute complex engineering projects from concept to reality.\r\nSelf-starter who thrives in fast-paced, startup environments.\r\nExcellent collaboration, problem-solving, and communication skills.\r\nWhy Join Us\r\nThis is a rare opportunity to shape the core engineering DNA of a company redefining how cargo moves across the planet.
