This includes visual inspections, proper blade maintenance, and adherence to quality and safety standards. The operator must follow detailed work instructions, ensure accurate record-keeping, and maintain a clean and safe work environment.\n\nRequirements\n\nDuties & Responsibilities\n\nDaily setup and safe operation of manual and auto saws.\nAdjust Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) parameters when required.\nPerform visual inspections of blades and saw plates and inspect for damage or wear.\nInstall and maintain blades while following the Lock Out Tag Out program.\nAdjust stop pieces for correct length and validate with measuring devices.\nExecute controlled, precise cutting operations, observing safety precautions with spring-loaded saw handles.\nMonitor coolant levels and ensure proper disposal to prevent slips or falls.\nComplete setup approval per work instructions before production runs.\nMonitor production quality; check part length, inspect for burrs or abrasions.\nMaintain clean equipment and workplace; report safety issues immediately to team leader, supervisor, or manager.\nRecord all production data and downtime on appropriate forms and/or computer programs.\nHandle non-conforming parts as outlined in work instructions.\nAdhere to environmental policies including chemical handling and waste disposal procedures.\nFollow detailed instructions from shop routers, JIBs, and work instructions.\nMonitor and achieve established Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as production output, quality standards, efficiency, and safety compliance, ensuring continuous improvement and alignment with company goals.\nKeep work area clean and organized to prevent safety hazards.\nPerform additional duties as assigned.\nCommitment to uphold Polygon's Core Values: Safety, Deliver Quality, Initiative, Collaboration, and Innovation.\nEducation & Training High school diploma or equivalent (GED or HSE).\nKnowledge & Experience 2+ years of experience operating manual and auto saws in a manufacturing environment preferred.\nFamiliarity with ISO 9001 or other quality management systems.\nProficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.\nStrong knowledge of precision measuring instruments and quality inspection techniques.\nSkills & Abilities Good mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.\nFrequently required to reach and use hands and arms continuously.\nAbility to lift and move up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time.\n\nWorking Conditions\n\nThe physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
