Accounts Payable Specialist
East Harding Construction Introduction:
East Harding Construction is a Little Rock, Arkansas, based commercial Construction Manager / General Contractor founded in 1974 and celebrating 50-years in 2024. The company is licensed in Arkansas only with renovation and new construction projects throughout the state in the public and private sectors including K-12, higher education, health care, corporate, non-profit, office/warehouse, hospitality, municipal, religious and others. A 10-year Accounts Payable Specialist is retiring and creating this open position.
Position Overview:
The Accounts Payable Specialist will perform crucial job duties that ensure vendors/subcontractors get paid for services and products rendered. He/she will review and process invoices, payment applications, answer vendor/subcontractor inquiries, process and maintain 1099 Statements, and process and distribute checks.
In this position you will become the trusted face of our organization and help drive accounts payable team members to meet quarterly and annual goals. This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. The AP Specialist may perform other related duties as negotiated to meet the ongoing needs of the company:
Essential Job Functions:
Process subcontractor invoices/pay applications and payments including input into accounting software.
Track and update insurance certificates from subcontractors and suppliers to assure compliance with insurance and bonding requirements as indicated in contract agreements.
Track second/third tier subcontracts and suppliers by reviewing and investigating information supplied on the subcontractors sworn statement
Obtain and track lien waiver forms from subcontractors and second/third tiered subs and suppliers.
Develop and maintain a filing system for financial information, records and documents to ensure easily available information.
Assist Project Managers with monthly billings and estimate input as needed
Assist with other miscellaneous office duties as needed.
Desired Skills and Experience:
Minimum 2 years of accounts payable experience.
High school diploma required. College courses in accounting are preferred.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Proactive, good organizational skills, and high attention to detail.
Self-disciplined in organizing and prioritizing the completion of daily, weekly and monthly tasks.
Highly motivated, positive team player with good work ethic.
Able to listen to and follow detailed instructions.
Basic understanding of construction paperwork processes and procedures.
Moderate-Advanced computer skills – Microsoft Office, email, Accounting Software, etc.
8:00 am – 5:00 pm position with the willingness to work overtime as needed.
