Summary:The Buyer role is responsible for:Timely and competitive procurement of raw materials & subcontract servicesTimely job scheduling and release that support production capacity constraints and customer delivery expectationsRegular monitoring of open order status to identify potential delivery risks and recommend countermeasuresEssential Duties:Monitors short and long term material requirement needs, develops and implements effective plans to assure material availability using SAP to manage and action daily ERP messagesControls the flow of material from the supplier and on the production floorMonitors supplier on time delivery performance and escalates as necessary to commodity manager if chronic delivery issues are identifiedSends open order report to supplier weekly to ensure current schedule is accurateEnsures that SAP reflects the most up-to-date delivery schedule from suppliersMonitors supplier shortages, shortage analysis and communication to appropriate team(s) as necessaryMonitors supplier quality levels and escalates as necessary to commodity manager if chronic delivery issues are identifiedDaily expediting to ensure high service levels to our customersInitiates actions as necessary for the participation of Engineering, Manufacturing and Quality Assurance to resolve day-to-day supplier concernsTakes a proactive role in continuous improvement of SAP parametersEducation/Experience/Other Skills & Abilities:Bachelor degree in Business/Operations or Supply Chain preferredTwo to three years of operations/supply chain experience in a manufacturing environmentExperience in ERP systems, SAP desiredDisclaimer: This job description is not designed to be a complete list of all duties and responsibilities required for this role.Equal Opportunity Employer of protected Veterans, disabled individuals or other individuals regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, gender, gender identity, age or sexual orientationThis position requires access to or use of export-controlled technical data or technology controlled by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
