LTS Special Education Teacher

ELIGIBILITY: Candidate must have NYS Certification in Students with Disabilities All Grades, or Birth-2 ndREPORTS TO: Elementary School Principal & Director of Special EducationDESCRIPTION: Eligible candidates must plan for, provide, and document instruction to students with disabilities in a variety of settings, as mandated on Individual Education Plans. Instruction must be aligned with the New York State Next Generation Learning Standards at each grade level and NYS regulations governing the provision of special education services. Candidate must be able to work collaboratively with co-professionals, effectively communicate with parents/guardians, and complete assessments and reporting as appropriate.DutiesConsult and team with teachers to meet the needs of students Individual Education Programs.Complete assessment, documentation and progress monitoring of students individualized goals by collecting and reporting data.Utilize curriculum provided by the district to plan for, provide, and document instruction.Differentiate instruction to meet the individual needs of students with disabilities on your caseload.Develop and report on students Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).Attend student's IEP meetings as assigned.Provide parent support and education, as needed.Collaborate with the educational team in supporting student needs across school settings.QUALIFICATIONS:NYS Certification in Students with Disabilities All Grades of Birth-2 nd Knowledge and understanding of the New York State Next Generation Learning StandardsAwareness of Inclusion/Consultant Teacher/Co-Teach teaching modelsKnowledge of the continuum of services for students with disabilitiesFlexibility and strong communication skillsPlease make sure to complete an application by clicking here for this job posting.
