You may operate other machinery including horizontal boring mills and CNC vertical and horizontal lathes.\nJob Description:\nPerforms layouts, sets up, and machine tools as required.\nReview blueprints, drawings, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of part/product, sequence of operations, and/or set up requirements.\nReads and interprets all drawings, including geometric dimensioning and tolerance.\nMeasure, mark, and otherwise indicate the dimensions and reference points on the part or material to be used as guides for subsequent machining.\nSelect, align and secure the holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines including mills, lathes, and grinders.\nCalculate and set controls to regulate various machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut.\nStart and observe machine operation to detect any malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjust the machine controls as necessary.\nVerify conformance of the finished part to ensure that it meets specifications.\nImproves methods for higher quality and improved costs.\nAssist maintenance in diagnosis, repair, and preventative maintenance.\nAdheres to company and departmental policies, procedures, and standards.\nPerforms other duties within his/her capabilities as determined by management.\nMaintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.\nPosition Requirements:\nHigh School graduate or equivalent\n2+ years experience\nMust be able to speak and understand English.\nCompletion of a machinist apprentice program or equivalent training\nProgramming is a plus\nFamiliarity with Mori Seki, Okuma, and Haas machines is a plus.\nAbility to hold close tolerances and conduct component inspections.\nDemonstrated ability to effectively set up and operate all or at least most, of the machines.\nAbility to perform with a minimum of direct supervision.\nWorking knowledge of tool geometry and application.\nWorking knowledge of effects of feeds and speeds.\nWillingness to work in a team environment\nAbility to work overtime as required\nPay commensurate with experience, shift differentials apply.
