Travel to this location may be required. For candidates interested in relocating to Maryland, relocation to the area is also an option.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nLead Systems Engineering Technical Reviews (SETRs), requirements development, system architecture, risk management, and configuration management activities.\n\nConduct gap analyses aligned with warfighter needs to deliver traceable capability requirements for current and future weapons roadmaps.\n\nGuide requirements definition, capability roadmapping, and integration planning for emerging DoD strike weapons.\n\nCoordinate with developmental and operational test communities, intelligence organizations, program offices, NAVAIR, JPO, industry partners, and fleet/combat air forces.\n\nLead risk assessment activities related to aircraft and system-of-systems integration.\n\nServe as a primary technical interface with fleet users, OPNAV sponsors, contractors, platform PMAs, weapons safety boards, and joint service partners.\n\nSome travel to the NAS Patuxent River, MD-based program office may be required.\n\nThis description outlines the general nature and scope of the role. Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.\n\nRequirements\nWhat You’ll Bring:\nRequired Qualifications:\n\nBachelor's degree in systems engineering, aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a related technical discipline.\n\n8+ years of systems engineering experience supporting complex systems, preferably within the DoD, aerospace, defense, or other highly regulated environments.\n\nDemonstrated experience with systems engineering processes, including requirements development, systems integration, technical reviews, risk management, and/or configuration management.\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\nExperience supporting weapons systems, aircraft systems, or other complex military systems.\n\nExperience with DoD acquisition programs and familiarity with DoD 5000-series guidance.\n\nExperience with NAVAIR, Navy, Marine Corps, or other DoD programs.\n\nFamiliarity with MIL-STD environments, aircraft/weapon integration, or systems certification processes.\n\nEqually Important:\n\nAbility to build positive, collaborative relationships across teams and with external partners.\n\nEffective communicator with strong verbal and written skills.\n\nProactive, self-directed work style with the ability to operate independently.\n\nAnalytical thinker with proven problem-solving capabilities.\n\nHighly organized, with the ability to balance competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.\n\nASEC is committed to providing access and reasonable accommodation in its services, activities, programs, and employment opportunities in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act and other applicable laws.\n\nSecurity Clearance Requirement:\n\nThis position requires U.S. citizenship and an active DoD Secret clearance.
