Production Lead (Houston)

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PMPurpose of the RoleThe Production Lead is responsible for overseeing all production operations within the assigned building, with a primary focus on safety, production performance, and workforce development. This role ensures that manufacturing activities are executed efficiently, safely, and in alignment with company standards, strategic objectives, and leadership direction.The Building Director serves as the operational leader for production personnel and High Performance Team Leads, driving accountability, maintaining a high-performance culture, and ensuring consistent execution of production schedules, safety programs, and training initiatives.Main Duties and Responsibilities1. Production & Operational LeadershipOversee daily production operations to ensure alignment with company goals, schedules, and quality standardsDevelop, maintain, and execute an accurate and efficient production schedule using Global Shop Solutions and supporting toolsEnsure on-time delivery (OTD) and optimize labor efficiency across all departments within the buildingMaintain the ability to step into and operate any production department when necessary to support continuityDrive continuous improvement initiatives to increase throughput, efficiency, and overall operational performance2. Safety & ComplianceServe as the primary safety authority for the production buildingEnforce company safety policies and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirementsOversee safety training, incident reporting, and corrective actionsConduct and manage monthly safety and housekeeping audits, storm drain checks, and related compliance activitiesPartner with the Process Control Manager and Lead Director to continuously improve safety programs and outcomes3. Leadership & Workforce DevelopmentLead, coach, and develop High Performance Team Leads and production personnelBuild a strong leadership pipeline through training, mentorship, and succession planningEnsure employees are properly trained, cross-trained, and performing to established standardsPromote a culture of accountability, professionalism, and high performance throughout the building4. Inventory & Cross-Functional CoordinationSupport inventory management efforts to maintain optimal stock levels while minimizing excessPartner with the Quality and Inventory Manager to ensure inventory accuracy and controlCollaborate with maintenance to ensure equipment uptime and operational readinessWork cross-functionally with sales, production, and shipping to ensure smooth workflow and customer satisfaction5. Reporting & AccountabilityMonitor and report on key performance indicators including on-time delivery, labor efficiency, and incident ratesReview daily production reports (e.g., orders due, schedule adherence) and drive accountability through Team LeadsEnsure completion of required audits, logs, and compliance documentationAlign all activities with the strategic direction and expectations set by the Lead Director6. Facility Oversight & Customer SupportMaintain a clean, organized, and professional facility at all timesEnsure the building is prepared for customer visits and toursOccasionally support customer interactions by providing operational insight and addressing questions7. Additional ResponsibilitiesAct as a problem solver and decision-maker in addressing operational challengesPerform other duties as assigned by leadershipRequired QualificationsExperience in the coordination of activities or working in a manufacturing environment.Proven business abilities, service, quality implementation and organizational skills with an emphasis on procedure developmentThe skill set for coordinating the complexities of operating across multiple manufacturing unitsExperience and knowledge of the chain of commandA great communicator and team builderProficient with Microsoft Office SuitePreferred QualificationsFamiliarity with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement principlesExperience with welding, grinding, or basic metalworkingBilingual (English/Spanish)
