As part of the GSS Team, the Linux Systems Engineer expertise is needed to support a sophisticated enterprise environment. The Linux Systems Engineer is an active participant in SAFe and Scrum development teams and meetings. The systems engineer will be responsible for supporting the customer's enterprise environment.\n\nSpecific Duties and Responsibilities\nDesign, implement, and maintain enterprise Linux-based infrastructure in both on-premises and virtualized environments\nAdminister, maintain, and optimize Nutanix hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI), including AHV, Prism Central, and Prism Element, to support enterprise Linux workloads\nCollaborate with infrastructure teams to provision, configure, and manage virtual machines, storage, networking, and cluster resources within Nutanix environments\nDevelop and maintain automation solutions using Ansible and scripting languages (e.g. Bash & Python)\nStandardize system configuration, patching, and deployment processes through Infrastructure-as-Code practices\nAdminister and support Red Hat ecosystem tools, including Satellite and Capsule\nIntegrate and manage authentication and authorization mechanisms (e.g. OAuth, SSO, identity providers)\nSupport the development of dashboards and observability solutions using tools such as Grafana and Zabbix\nMonitor, troubleshoot, and optimize Linux systems and Nutanix infrastructure for performance, availability, and capacity\nTroubleshoot complex system, virtualization, storage, networking, and integration issues across distributed environments\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to improve system reliability, scalability, security, and operational efficiency\nDocument system architecture, processes, automation, and infrastructure standards\nContribute to continuous improvement initiatives including automation maturity, platform modernization, and operational best practices\nQualifications:\nClearance Required: Active TS clearance (with SCI Eligibility) and eligibility to obtain CI Poly\n\nEducation/Experience:\nRequires Bachelor's degree in computer science engineering, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience\n5+ years of experience administering and engineering Linux systems in enterprise environments, including experience supporting enterprise virtualization platforms such as Nutanix\nRequired Skills:\n\nSolid understanding of Linux system administration fundamentals (networking, storage, security, and OS internals)\nStrong expertise in configuration management and automation using Ansible\nProficiency in scripting (Bash, Python, or similar) for automation and tooling\nExperience managing Red Hat-based environments (RHEL, Satellite, Capsule, or similar tools)\nHands-on experience administering Nutanix HCI environments, including AHV, Prism Central, Prism Element, virtual machine lifecycle management, storage, networking and cluster operations\nExperience deploying, managing, and troubleshooting Linux virtual machines in Nutanix environments\nUnderstanding of virtualization, hypervisor technologies, storage and networking concepts\nExperience troubleshooting complex infrastructure, virtualization, and performance issues\nExperience implementing security best practice in Linux environments\nExperience with monitoring and alerting systems\nStrong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently\nWhat is ideal?\nExperience with Nutanix advanced capabilities such as Files, Objects, Flow, Calm, or Disaster Recovery.\nExperience with Nutanix automation using APIs, PowerShell, or Infrastructure-as-Code tools\nExperience with load balancing devices such as HAProxy or F5\nFamiliarity with authentication and authorization concepts (e.g. OAuth, LDAP, SSO)\nExperience with observability and dashboarding tools such as Grafana and Zabbix\nFamiliarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)\nKnowledge of CI/CD pipelines and integration with infrastructure automation\nExperience with VMWare-to-Nutanix migration or hybrid virtualization environments\nStrong communication and documentation skills\nIntelligence Community Experience preferred\nWhat you can expect from us:\nRecognizing great achievements do not go unnoticed by bcore through service anniversaries, spot awards, and employee referral bonuses\nYou’ll join a growing organization of passionate, top-shelf, IT engineering professionals with extensive experience in actively developing the technology revolution in the Intelligence community\nThe expected salary range within the Washington, DC metropolitan area is: $113,000-$139,000.
