This position offers an exciting opportunity to influence organizational performance while driving sustainable improvements across our manufacturing operations.\n\nWhat You'll Do\n\nAs the EHS Engineer, you will:\n\nLead the development, implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of EHS programs, policies, procedures, and management systems.\nDevelop and deliver EHS training, employee engagement, and safety awareness programs, including safety committees, behavior-based safety initiatives, and compliance education, to strengthen employee knowledge, participation, and commitment to a proactive safety culture.\nConduct facility inspections, compliance audits, job hazard analyses (JHAs), and risk assessments to identify and mitigate workplace hazards.\nLead investigations of incidents, injuries, near misses, and environmental events using root-cause analysis methodologies.\nCoordinate emergency preparedness and response activities, including evacuation planning, First Aid, HazMat response, and emergency drills.\nAdminister key safety programs such as:\nRespiratory Protection\nHearing Conservation\nHazard Communication\nLockout/Tagout (LOTO)\nContractor Safety\nIndustrial Hygiene Monitoring\nRisk Management Programs\nCollaborate with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, Human Resources, and site leadership to integrate EHS principles into daily operations and projects.\nMonitor and analyze EHS performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive continuous improvement.\nManage regulatory reporting, permits, compliance documentation, and communications with regulatory agencies as required.\nSupport sustainability initiatives focused on waste reduction, pollution prevention, resource conservation, and environmental performance improvement.\nLead employee engagement activities including safety committees, awareness campaigns, and behavior-based safety programs.\nProvide technical guidance and recommendations during capital projects, process changes, and new equipment installations to ensure compliance and risk mitigation.\nEnsure compliance with OSHA, EPA, South Carolina environmental regulations, and applicable corporate requirements.\nSupport and maintain integrated management systems including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001.\nServe as a visible champion for Sandvik's safety culture and core value.\n\nWhat You Bring\n\nQualifications and Requirements\n\nBachelor's degree in Environmental, Health, & Safety, Environmental Engineering, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or a related technical field.\nExperience in an EHS role within a manufacturing, industrial, engineering, or related environment.\nWorking knowledge of:\nOSHA General Industry Standards (29 CFR 1910)\nEPA Regulations (40 CFR)\nDOT Regulations (49 CFR)\nExperience leading incident investigations and implementing corrective and preventive actions.\nKnowledge of risk assessment methodologies and industrial hazard controls.\nStrong communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills with the ability to influence all levels of an organization.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving abilities.\nRequires current authorization to work in the United States.
