May assist in instructing and training lower-level assemblers . Reads and interprets wiring lists and assembly drawings to work orders using work instructions . May perform any rework from test failures in accordance with standard repair procedures and may set up and operate automated assembly equipment. At the most senior level may serve as a team leader providing training to new staff and evaluating the performance and finished work of assigned staff.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include , but are not limited to :Determine Detail/Hardware locations per blueprints and mylarsSet-up and operate Drill Press, Pneumatic drills, \"C\" squeezes, Hand Squeezes, Rivet Pullers.Set up countersinks per fastener requirements and shop routerMonitor and work with very tight tolerancesDrill holes in structure and subassemblies, and attaches brackets, hinges, or clips to secure installation or to fasten subassemblies per blueprint and customer specifications.Install units, parts, equipment, and components in structural assembly, according to blueprints and specifications, using hand tools and power tools.Bolt, screw, or rivet accessories to fasten, support, or hang components and subassemblies.Locate and mark reference points and holes for installation of parts and components, using jigs, templates, and measuring instruments.Inspects and tests installed units, parts, and equipment for fit, performance, and compliance with standards, using measuring instruments and test equipment.Position and align subassemblies in jigs or fixtures, using measuring instruments, following blueprint lines and index points.Complete all required training and any additional training required by supervisor.Complete quality documentationPerform preventative maintenance on assembly presses and toolingVerify part and hardware count to shop routerOther duties as assigned Qualifications: Experience and Education:1-2 years of relevant experienceHigh school degree or equivalentTechnical Skills:Excellent attention to detailStrong hand-eye coordinationAbility to read, understand and interpret engineering drawings and specifications (e.g., blueprint reading, specification, change, design).Working knowledge of aircraft manufacturing, instructions and blueprintsWorking knowledge of customer specifications and requirementsAbility to use calipers, micrometers, etc.Mastery of basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and fractions)Strong teamwork and communication skills to get along with co-workers and be a team playerUnderstand and obey safety requirementsCommitment to keep work area clean and free of debrisPhysical Requirements:Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50lbsSpecific vision abilities include close and distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focusAbility to use hands to finger, handle, or feel, as well as reach with hands and arms for extended periods of timeCapable of standing for long periodsSupervisory Responsibilities : None.Travel Required : N/ANote : This job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee(s) of this position .
