Your skills = funding that supports our urban forest and youth/young adults seeking greater economic security.\nVariable part-time hours: from 12 - 24 hours / week depending on need and availability\nThis position pays within the range of $20.00 - $27.00 per hour, depending upon qualifications and experience.\n\nEssential Functions:\n\nMaintain and repair hand tools.\nMaintain and repair gas powered small engines and equipment.\nMaintain and repair heavy equipment.\nMaintain and repair vehicle and trailer fleet.\nMaintain and repair buildings and grounds.\nSafely operate all tools and equipment.\nTransport tools, equipment, and vehicles.\nEffectively communicate with team members from various departments, supervisors, and other stakeholders.\nKeep accurate timesheet records.\nKeep shop and storage areas well organized for safety, efficiency, and loss control.\n\nQualifications/Skills Required:\n\nHigh School Diploma/GED.\nMust be 18 years of age or older with a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record as determined by our insurance carrier.\nMust have three (3) years of experience maintaining equipment/fleet or similar or completed a year of formal mechanical training.\nMust be able to pass a criminal background and motor vehicle check.\nMust possess a MN DOT medical certificate.\nMust possess a strong work ethic and be able to complete tasks independently on a deadline.\nMust be able to take work direction.\nMust be teachable, trainable and project a proactive attitude-always looking for the next way to find solutions.\nMust have strong communication skills and be an effective listener.\nMust be reliable, possess a positive attitude and be able to work independently.\nMust strictly adhere to Tree Trust’s safety policies and procedures.\nMust have ability to work effectively with individuals of differing backgrounds, knowledge, and skill levels.\nAbility and willingness to demonstrate Tree Trust’s core values of Professional, Integrity, Commitment, Resilient, and Stewardship.\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\nTechnical degree or equivalent.\nClass A CDL\nExperience operating a skid steer and other equipment.\nMIG Welding/Fabrication\n\nWork Environment: Job will require working outdoors in all types of weather conditions and exposure to elements. This can include heavy to moderate noise, extreme proximity to moving equipment or machinery, proximity to electrical energy, exposure to tools and machines used in construction industries.\n\nPhysical demands: Physical demands require constantly moving, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Frequently ascends/descends a ladder to perform work. Frequently operates machinery and will use hands/fingers and legs to operate, activate, use, prepare, inspect, place, detect and position materials. Frequently required to stand and walk, lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
