The quality and reliability you ensure has real-world impact on market fairness and financial securityWhat Will Be Your Responsibilities Within IBKRAs a Software Development Engineer in Test and help protect market integrity at massive scale. You'll build and maintain the automated testing infrastructure that ensures reliability across systems processing 1+ billion order events daily—work that directly impacts the fairness and security of financial markets.Build scalable testing frameworks that enable our team to deploy confidently and maintain high system reliabilityDesign comprehensive test suites covering unit, integration, and acceptance testing that catch issues before they reach productionCollaborate with engineers and data scientists to embed quality practices throughout the development lifecycleProvide metrics and reporting on test coverage, quality trends, and system reliabilityBuild and maintain monitoring and alerting systems for test infrastructureDevelop data quality checks to ensure integrity across pipelines and databasesInvestigate and triage test failures, working with development teams to identify root causes and implement fixesWhat Required Skill’s You NeedBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, or related quantitative field3+ years of software engineering experience with strong coding skills (Python required)Strong experience with unit testing frameworks (pytest, unittest, etc.)Strong communication skills with meticulous attention to detailExperience with version control systems (git)Experience & MindsetSolid foundation in testing methodologies and quality assurance principlesStrong problem-solving and analytical abilitiesSelf-motivated with ability to drive projects independentlyPreferred QualificationsExperience with data quality/lineage platforms (Manta/Ataccama)\Background in performance/load testing toolsAPI and contract testing experienceExperience with data engineering concepts and toolsExperience with monitoring/observability toolsCompany Benefits & PerksCompetitive salary, annual performance-based bonus and stock grantRetirement plan 401(k) with competitive company matchExcellent health and wellness benefits, including medical, dental, and vision benefits.
