If this sounds like you, then Fiber Technician I might be the role for you.\nAs a Fiber Technician, you will be contributing to providing our customers quality service by locating and repairing fiber impairments in the field. You'll working primarily independently while examining existing fiber plant and connecting new builds for residential and enterprise customers. By maintaining and improving Charter's fiber network, your work will keep our customers connected to our growing network.\nWHAT OUR FIBER TECHS ENJOY MOST\nWorking independently while having team support if needed\nEvery day in the field is different\nThe knowledge of ultimately helping customers\nAn open flow of communication between peer organizations\nA fast paced environment\nWorking with cutting edge technology\nWith the support of your team and other peer organizations, you will be able to ensure our fiber networks are working optimally. You will become a valued member of Charter's organization through your dedication and hard work.\nWHAT YOU'LL BRING TO SPECTRUM\nRequired Qualifications\nEducation:High school diploma\nIndustry and vendor specific certifications and training (NCTI, SCTE, and BCT/E)\nCompletion of the following courses: NCTI - Fiber Installation and Activation and Fiber Testing and Maintenance and/or SCTE Maintenance Technology Level 2, Networking Testing and Maintenance Level 2, Optical Fiber ConstructionExperience:Maintenance tech or equivalent work experience of at least 1 yearTechnical Skills:Knowledge of traditional fiber architectures, fiber optic systems, testing and splicing equipment, and Coarse and Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (CWDM/DWDM), Valid driver's licenseSkills:Highly organized, able to work independently, strong communications skillsAbilities:Able to stand for 50-70% of the time\nAble to use hand tools\nAble to climb poles using gaffs and climbing belts as infrequently\nAble to work in inclement weatherSchedule:Hours will be determined as business needs dictatePreferred Qualifications\nAssociates degree in electronics or a related field\nBasic computer knowledge for occasional work in the office\n#LI-AA7 EFR123 2 Here, our employees don't just have jobs, they're building careers.
