Instructional Coach - M.A.P.

Job Title: M.A.P. - Instructional Coach Department: DAO - Teaching and Learning Reports to: Executive Director, Mastery of the Arts Program and Director of Strategic Projects Effective Date: 4/2025 Salary Grade: Certified ($43,582 to DOE) FLSA Status: Exempt Job Summary: The Instructional Coach supports school improvement and student achievement by building capacity in leadership, instruction, assessment, communication, collaboration, and culture. Reporting to the Executive Director, Mastery of the Arts Program and Director of Strategic Projects, the role involves coaching and mentoring teachers, facilitating professional development, participating in professional learning communities, leveraging data to inform instruction, and modeling effective teaching practices. The Instructional Coach collaborates with school leadership and stakeholders to develop and implement school improvement plans, monitor student progress, and deliver professional development aligned with academic standards. This position focuses on advancing instructional quality and program effectiveness. Essential Job Functions Assists school leadership for the purpose of developing on-going implementation of Professional Development opportunities for teachers. Assists school leadership for the purpose of identifying, writing and implementing the school's improvement plan. Supports school leadership for the purpose of developing, implementing and evaluating school programs. Supports the school's mission for the purpose of articulating a vision. Works cooperatively with school leadership for the purpose of implementing Governing Board policies and procedures and administrative regulations. Partner with the teachers to develop a plan of strategies to achieve desired student outcomes. Provides choice and facilitates teacher self-reflection using data as a driving force. Sustain a well-organized system for managing networks of teacher support that provides choice for how teachers can engage, allowing for teachers to share their own experiences, reflect, and incorporate different perspectives based on the identities of the individuals in the group. Make decisions based upon data that is reliable and relevant, provide meaningful, non-judgemental insight, aligned with teacher/campus/district level goals. Engage in collaborative professional learning experiences with other ICs to reflect and adjust practices based on new learning. Take intentional actions to develop professional relationships built on respect, trust, and authenticity with teachers, campus and district leaders, and other coaches. All other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS Required (Education & Experience) Bachelor's degree in job-related area Current Arizona Teaching Certificate Additional Eligibility Requirements Must maintain Certificates and/or Licenses Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance Valid IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card Valid driver's license Preferred employed as a teacher in a public school within the last three years Preferred leadership roles in the areas of curriculum, instruction, and teacher coaching Preferred Master's degree in job-related area Position Type & Work Schedule: (Full-time or Part-time, normal daily hours, months per year) Full-time, 8 hours a day, Monday - Friday 9 months Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: (required to do the job) Effectively communicate both oral and written Ability to organize tasks and manage time to meet many and varied deadlines Adapting to ever-changing work priorities Communicating with diverse groups Maintaining confidentiality Meeting deadlines and schedules Working as part of a team Working with detailed information/data Maintaining effective working relationships. Work Conditions The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; and significant fine finger dexterity.
