Visa sponsorship not available.Core Responsibilities (Healthcare Systems Focus)Develop, maintain, and enhance Speedware 4GL applications supporting healthcare and revenue cycle operations in UNIX environmentsAnalyze, design, and implement improvements to legacy systems, including billing, claims processing, and reimbursement workflowsWrite clean, efficient, and well-tested code, working both independently and in small team environmentsTroubleshoot production issues; perform root cause analysis and document solutionsDebug, optimize, and improve the performance of systems critical to healthcare financial operationsCollaborate with stakeholders (Analysts, Product Managers, Project Managers, Systems Managers) to translate business requirements into technical solutionsParticipate in Agile development practices and iterative delivery cyclesSupport or lead client implementations, including onboarding, configuration, and go-live supportTake full ownership of assigned tasks, ensuring delivery on schedule and meeting defined quality standardsDevelop and maintain interfaces and integrations, including EDI transactions (e.g., 837, 835)Support system modernization and migration initiativesConduct peer code reviews to ensure standards, performance, and reliabilityProvide Tier 3 production support for complex issuesMaintain technical and process documentationEnsure compliance with HIPAA and data security standardsPerform other duties as assignedTechnical Skills & EnvironmentStrong experience with Speedware 4GL programming and scriptingExperience working in UNIX/Linux environments, including file systems, processes, and permissionsProficiency with command-line tools for system operations, troubleshooting, and maintenanceShell scripting (Bash) for automation, batch processing, and system tasksExperience creating, scheduling, and maintaining cron jobsKnowledge of COBOL, commonly used alongside Speedware in legacy environmentsExperience with SQL (SQL/MP, SQL/MX, or ANSI SQL)Familiarity with batch processing, job scheduling, and system monitoringExperience working with legacy file structures and high-volume data processing systemsUnderstanding of transaction-based systems (especially in healthcare/RCM environments)Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure (cloud services, deployments, or integrations)Education & ExperienceBachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)2+ years of programming experience (or more, depending on leveling)Familiarity with Agile methodologies preferredExperience in healthcare billing, claims, or revenue cycle systems is a plusStrong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skillsExcellent time management and ability to handle multiple prioritiesRequirements:Physical Demands: General office demands including sitting and/or standing for long periods of time. Dexterity with general office equipment including but not limited to keyboard, mouse, printer and calculator. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.Ability to handle stress in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines while adapting to a changing atmosphere.
