The Technical Writer will be responsible for creating clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation for our products/services. The successful candidate will work closely with subject matter experts to gather information and translate technical concepts into easy-to-understand content for end users. The Technical Writer will play a crucial role in ensuring that our documentation meets high standards of quality, accuracy, and effectiveness.\nKey Responsibilities:\nDocumentation Development: Collaborate with subject matter experts to develop technical documentation, including user manuals, installation guides, API documentation, release notes, and troubleshooting guides.\nContent Creation: Write and edit technical content to ensure clarity, accuracy, and consistency, adhering to company style guidelines and industry standards.\nAudience Analysis: Understand the needs and knowledge level of target audiences, tailoring documentation to meet their requirements and provide an optimal user experience.\nResearch: Conduct research as needed to gather information on technical topics, staying updated on product features, functionalities, and best practices.\nDocument Review: Review and revise existing documentation to incorporate updates, improvements, and feedback from stakeholders.\nGraphics and Multimedia: Work with graphic designers and multimedia specialists to create visual aids, diagrams, and videos to enhance the clarity and effectiveness of documentation.\nVersion Control: Maintain version control and document change management processes to ensure accuracy and consistency across all documentation.\nQuality Assurance: Perform quality assurance checks on documentation to identify and correct errors, inconsistencies, and usability issues.\nCollaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, and customer support, to gather information and ensure alignment on documentation requirements and priorities.\nQualifications:\nAbility to obtain a US Security clearance. A US citizenship is REQUIRED.\nBachelor's degree in English, Technical Writing, Communication, Computer Science, or related field.\nProven experience as a Technical Writer, preferably within the Federal Government.\nExcellent writing and editing skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and engaging content.\nProficiency in documentation tools such as Microsoft Word, Adobe FrameMaker, MadCap Flare, or similar.\nFamiliarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and documentation management platforms.\nStrong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality, error-free documentation.\nAbility to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.\nExperience working in Agile development environments and familiarity with Agile methodologies is a plus.\nKnowledge of HTML, CSS, XML, or other markup languages is desirable.\nExperience with software documentation, APIs, or developer documentation is an advantage.\nJob Type: Full-time\nPay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year\nBenefits:\n401(k)\nDental insurance\nEmployee assistance program\nFlexible spending account\nHealth insurance\nHealth savings account\nLife insurance\nPaid time off\nParental leave\nProfessional development assistance\nReferral program\nRetirement plan\nTuition reimbursement\nVision insurance\nSchedule:\nMonday to Friday\nApplication Question(s):\nThis position supports a US Government Contract that requires a US citizenship.
