With a wide variety of people, global locations, technologies and products, 3M is a place where you can collaborate with other curious, creative 3Mers.\n\nThis position provides an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government or military experience to a 3M career.\nThe Impact You’ll Make in this Role\n\nLead or support new product commercialization activities, including process development, scale-up, validation, and manufacturing readiness\n\nServe as a technical resource for troubleshooting and resolving process issues related to process conditions and material construction\n\nApply statistical and engineering methods to monitor, control, and improve process capability, reliability, and product consistency\n\nIdentify and lead initiatives to improve cost, quality, service, throughput, and yield within assigned areas\n\nSupport and implement improvements related to process safety, environmental performance, and equipment reliability\n\nEvaluate capital planning needs and support equipment upgrades, modifications, and technology investments\n\nPartner with cross-functional teams to plan and execute process trials, experiments, and data-driven improvement projects\n\nDocument technical findings, communicate recommendations clearly, and contribute to effective team decision-making\n\nYour Skills & Expertise\nTo set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:\n\nBachelor’s degree or higher in an engineering or science discipline (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution\n\nOne (1) year of combined experience in manufacturing and/or product/process development in a private, public, government or military environment\n\nAdditional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:\n\nMaster’s degree in engineering or science from an accredited institution\n\nThree (3) years of combined experience in manufacturing and/or product/process development in a private, public, government or military environment\n\nTechnical experience in polymer processing, extrusion, compounding, web handling, coating, lamination, adhesives, or roll-to-roll manufacturing\n\nExperience with continuous improvement, process scale-up, equipment qualification, and manufacturing optimization\n\nWorking knowledge of statistical process control, process capability analysis, design of experiments, and root cause problem solving\n\nStrong interpersonal, leadership, teamwork, and written/oral communication skills\n\nDemonstrated ability to work effectively across technical and operations teams in a fast-paced environment\n\nWork location\nMaplewood, MN\n\nTravel\nMay include up to 10% domestic\n\nRelocation Assistance\nMay be authorized\n\nMust be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).\n\nSupporting Your Well-being\n3M offers many programs to help you live your best life – both physically and financially.
