As an Adjunct Faculty member, the post holder is expected to perform all duties professionally, is expected to remain current in the discipline and pedagogy and ethically support the policies and mission of the University.\n\nReports to\nDirect Report to: Dean of the School of Natural Sciences & Mathematics\n\nEssential Duties And Responsibilities\n\nConduct in-person classes in forensic anthropology\n\nPrepare course material, and lab exercises\n\nProvide feedback and assessment of student performance\n\nMaintain a positive and engaging learning environment\n\nKeep abreast of developments in the field of forensic anthropology and incorporate new knowledge into the curriculum as appropriate\n\nAttend departmental meetings and participate in faculty development activities as required\n\nDisclaimer\nThis list of responsibilities is not exhaustive. Some holiday and weekend work may be required.\n\nEducation And Experience\nMinimum\n\nMaster's degree in forensic anthropology or a related field\n\nPrior teaching experience\n\nPreferred\n\nPhD in forensic anthropology or a related field\n\nTeaching experience in higher education\n\nRequired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities\n\nStrong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact and work with a diverse faculty, staff, and student body at all levels of the university\n\nProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or related software, learning management systems (e.g. Canvas), and other programs related to teaching, learning, advising, and assessment\n\nStrong knowledge of the forensic application of anthropology\n\nFamiliarity with educational technology and ability to use it to enhance student learning\n\nOrganized with meticulous attention to detail\n\nDedication to providing high-quality education to students\n\nFamiliarity with educational technology and ability to use it to enhance student learning\n\nExcellent project management skills and ability to prioritize work and resources\n\nAbility to meet deadlines\n\nAttention to detail with a focus on thoroughness and quality\n\nHigh integrity and ethical standards\n\nPhysical Requirements\nDuties involve light work in an office and community setting and requires a minimum of physical effort with intermittent sitting, standing, climbing stairs, and walking inclines. Must be able to lift 20 pounds, walk the campus with ease, and have excellent motor skills. Must have finger dexterity. Must be able to communicate information and ideas so that others will understand.\n\nOther Requirements\n\nThis is a part time, exempt position. Nineteen hours per week (M-F) will be the general rule. However, depending on the project cycles and workflow demands of the department, additional hours or workday schedule changes may be occasionally required. Must be willing and able to work occasional nights and weekends and a varying schedule\n\nPerforms such similar, comparable or related duties as may be assigned or required\n\nObserves all safety and health regulations and works in accordance with safe work procedures and policies of the University.
