Wraps, weighs, and prices meat products cut by the meat cutter. Stocks meat cases with cut, ground and otherwise prepared fresh meat, prepackaged meats and other items. Rotates product and removes expired or poor quality product. Keeps department clean, orderly, and maintained in accordance with State and Federal regulations.\n\nJob Duties\n\nProvide customer service as currently defined by the employer within the scope of the position and within company policy.\n\nOperate wrapping machine.\n\nObtain fresh, frozen, smoked and prepackaged meats from storage coolers and freezers and display in meat department display cases.\n\nUse carts, wheeled racks, dollies and pallet jacks to move bulky stock.\n\nPlace precut or ground meat in plastic tray and wraps, weighs, and prices by hand or using automatic machine.\n\nPeriodically checks display and storage areas for product with expired dates and removes from area for processing.\n\nPerform daily temp and tare checks.\n\nMay order product and supplies.\n\nOther duties as assigned.\n\nJob Related Qualifications\n\nAbility to follow company customer service procedures. Demonstrated prior customer service skills or related experience.\n\nAbility to interact with customers and co‑workers.\n\nAbility to understand and follow instructions.\n\nAbility to operate a scale, read, and follow instructions.\n\nPhysical Demands\n\nConstant (over 70% of the time)\n\nFrequent (30–70%)\n\nOccasional (10–30%)\n\nSeldom (1–10%)\n\nLifting: Constantly lifts 1–20 lbs. Frequent repetitive motion while wrapping and stocking.\n\nVision: Use of peripheral vision and depth perception to move around crowded meat area containing dangerous moving machinery. Near vision used to read tags, prices, dates, electric displays and other material.
