We offer full-service solutions for our clients using the latest technology with the very best equipment.\n\nSummary\nThe Folder Operator is responsible for the set-up, operation, and maintenance of folding machinery (Stahl and MBO) for folding sheets in preparation for other bindery functions or final packing for customer. Familiar with common folding patterns and measurements. The operator will need 2-3 years of experience operating commercial bindery folding equipment.\n\nCore Responsibilities\n\nReview job specifications to determine page sequence, type of fold, page size and packing requirements.\nPre-set side guide, fold plates, fold rollers, and any slitting blades or perforators required.\nSetup machine to ensure maximum speed/quality\nLoad sheets onto feeder and jog sheets into proper positions to determine final settings.\nMonitor machine operations to detect malfunctions or to determine whether adjustments are needed.\nAdjust machine during production run as required for, adherence to all quality and customer requirements.\nMay jog folded signatures or brochures for use in the next operation or for shipment to customer.\nMay operate two or more machines simultaneously.\nEnsure the Bindery manager signs off on all jobs\nLog into and record data collections. (PACE)\nRemove finished or pre-finished material from the folder machinery and pack into cartons for shipment to the customer or stack on pallets or carts for the next operation.\nEnsure the completion of jobs meeting quality and quantity requirements.\nEnsures that their work area and the rest of the bindery remain clean and tidy\nPerform all required maintenance to machines according to departmental procedures.\nTroubleshoot machine problems, resolving if possible, notifying Plant Manager as needed\nLubricate, clean, or make minor repairs to machine parts to keep machines in working condition.\nFollow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations. Maintain departmental housekeeping standards.\n\nEducation & Certification/Licensing Requirements\n\nHigh School Diploma or G.E.D.\n\nQualifications & Skill Requirements\n\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
