This role focuses on identifying new business opportunities, developing project relationships, and securing profitable construction projects for Tech Electronics.\n\nThe Construction Account Manager will work closely with estimating, engineering, project management, operations, and leadership teams to develop solutions that meet customer needs while supporting company growth and profitability.\n\nThis position requires a strong understanding of the construction industry, excellent relationship-building skills, and the ability to manage opportunities from initial lead through contract award and project handoff.\n\nEssential DutiesResponsibilities\nDevelop and maintain strong relationships with general contractors, electrical contractors, construction managers, developers, owners, architects, and other key construction partners.\nIdentify and pursue new construction project opportunities within the assigned market.\nBuild and maintain a healthy pipeline of upcoming construction projects and opportunities.\nMonitor construction plans, bid opportunities, project schedules, and market activity to identify opportunities for Tech Electronics.\nEstablish Tech Electronics as a trusted technology partner with construction customers and project stakeholders.\nMeet with customers to understand project requirements, timelines, budgets, and technology needs.\nCoordinate with internal estimating and engineering teams to develop competitive and effective proposals.\nReview project specifications, drawings, bid documents, and scopes of work to identify opportunities and potential risks.\nLead the sales process from initial opportunity through proposal, negotiation, and contract award.\nPrepare and deliver customer presentations, proposals, and solution recommendations.\nNegotiate pricing, scope, terms, and other contractual requirements within established company guidelines.\nMaintain accurate opportunity, customer, and sales activity information in the company's CRM.\nDevelop account plans and strategies to increase revenue and expand relationships with key construction accounts.\nIdentify opportunities to cross-sell and introduce additional Tech Electronics solutions and services.\nAttend construction industry events, networking opportunities, pre-bid meetings, job walks, and customer meetings.\nMaintain regular communication with customers throughout the sales process and ensure expectations are clearly communicated.\nPartner with project management and operations teams to ensure a smooth transition from sold project to project execution.\nMaintain knowledge of industry trends, construction practices, competitive activity, and emerging technology solutions.\nMonitor competitive activity and market conditions and provide relevant information to leadership.\nAchieve established sales, revenue, margin, and activity goals.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nQualifications\nRequired\n3+ years of sales or account management experience, preferably within the construction, electrical, low-voltage, security, fire alarm, or technology industries.\nDemonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships with construction industry customers.\nStrong understanding of the construction sales and project lifecycle.\nExcellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.\nAbility to understand customer needs and translate them into appropriate solutions.\nStrong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously.\nAbility to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal teams.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office products and CRM systems.\nValid driver's license and ability to travel locally and regionally as needed.\nPreferred\nExperience selling low-voltage systems, fire alarm, security, access control, video surveillance, or related technology solutions.\nExisting relationships with general contractors, electrical contractors, construction managers, or developers.\nExperience reading construction plans, specifications, and bid documents.\nExperience with construction bidding and estimating processes.\nKnowledge of construction project management and contracting practices.\nBachelor's degree in Business, Construction Management, Marketing, or a related field.\nWork Environment\n\nThis position operates in a professional office environment as well as customer and construction-site environments.
