Expanded Functions Dental AssistantReports to: Dentist /Operations LeaderFLSA Status: Non - Exempt (Hourly)OperationsAs an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA), you'll play a key role in delivering exceptional patient care while working side-by-side with a supportive and dynamic dental team.In this role, you'll assist the dentist during procedures, prepare treatment rooms and patients for a comfortable experience, and help maintain accurate patient records. You'll also have the opportunity to utilize your expanded skill set by performing select dental hygiene and restorative procedures-within your licensed scope-allowing you to grow professionally and contribute at a higher level.Working under the Direction of the Dentist and Operations Leader, the tasks and responsibilities of a Lead Managing Dental Assistant include but are but not limited to:Prepares patient for treatment, sterilizes instruments and dental furniture, sets up trays and prepares materialsTakes quality / acceptable radiographs, x-rays, panoramic x-rays, digital scans and 3D images as prescribed by the DentistTakes and records medical and dental histories and vital signs of patientsCompletes dental prophylaxisFabricates and fits orthodontic appliances and materials for patients such as retainers, wires, or bandsInstructs patient in oral hygiene and plaque control programs when appropriateManages lab cases, keeps equipment maintenance logs up to date and prepares charts in advance for patient safety, office efficiency and the patient experience.Orders and monitors dental supplies and equipment inventoryUtilizes tools skills and talents to assist patients in making the best possible decision for their needs and helping them get healthier and happier.Has a" yes mentality" when helping patients.Makes a positive first impression with patients by phone or in person.Be a champion of the Marquee Dental Partners Mission, Vision, and ValuesEnsure that ALL patients have an extraordinary experience in a Marquee officeHold self and staff accountable for successful completion of projects, job duties, and all company deliverables.Exhibit outstanding customer service with patient as priority; partnering with staff, timely and successfully resolve patient complaints, concerns and questions.Continually build and nurture a positive working relationship with the Operations Leader, Dentist(s), Hygienists and other staffStrictly follow HIPAA and company standards to protect Protected Health Information (PHI) and patient personal and financial information including credit card, social security numbers etc.High School diploma or equivalentLicense / training as required by their state/county/local licensing agencyX-ray certification as defined by their state / county/local licensing agency CertificationsCurrent state / county / local Expanded Functions Dental Assisting License as defined by licensing agencyCustomer Service FocusedTech savvy, computer proficient
